Hell no that’s a shit idea. Getting the wire in a good safe place over the clutch linkage(if you have one), brake pedal linkage and gas pedal stuff is a little annoying.

Oh yeah that’s the only way

Anyone notch their frame in the front to clear tires? I still rub frame and it’s annoying as fuck. I’m thinking of notching the frame out.

I think most people just run spacers

Phased out doesn't mean people stop using it or buying it.

The days where you can walk into the auto parts store and buy it right off the shelf like soda as a DIY-er ended a long time ago.

I like the idea tho, might build one myself...

I have a sizeable garage and I'm also building a "shop" (tuff shed) but with all the work I do my my truck, it'd be nice to not be doing so much back and forth.

Here’s the thing, I have aftermarket wheels and 1/4” spacers, and still rub a lot. I would need another 1/“2 I think to clear. And I don’t want he tires ari long out ridiculously and looking stupid. Hmmmm...

Maybe I’ll just find out exactly how much spacing I need to clear and have custom spacers made in that size. Notching the frame looks gay. I just looked. Making a steering stop is also an idea.

Would notching the frame right there weaken it at all? I know you’d weld some plate back in but still.

    Curious

She's in the Lake Christopher neighborhood. I don't know the elevation there. Like you said the chances of stalling and dumping rain for days is the big concern. She's going to pack up and go to her place in Bucksnort Tennessee and were flying out Wednesday morning at 7:50. Were stayig at the Ocean Sands Resort on Atlantic ave on VA Beach. The Ocean sounds angry. LOL.

Oh, you don't wanna bother wasting money to fix the AC on that believe me. Can't win on putting any money into a Merc from that era

This town is saturated already from the unusual excessive rain this summer.
