Had this done yesterday at the dealership and noticed an improvement off the start, no more stumble. Seems to have much less gear hunting going up inclines as well.

You all will love this. So I had the computer updated to the 1810. I was told the 1811(62-18) is only for high altitudes. I cannot tell you how rough this 2018 truck rides. I insisted they install it. Waiting on a response. Anyone else hear this about the 62-18??? Help!

Yeah it is for high altitudes but check your cal ID now. Good chance tech stream gave you the latest regardless of what your invoice says

Ask for TSB 0058-18. It gives you the same update (engine calibration) as 0062-18. Tell them when you're driving down the road, all of the sudden you get a surge and the rpm's quickly run up to 4000-5000rpm. Like it drops two gears like you just put the pedal into the floor.

If you haven't experienced it yet, you will, if you don't get the update.

The seatbelt locks and the only way to get it to move is to retract it all the way in and then start over. Unfortunately it is were my 5 year old sits in his booster so it kinda matters to me. If I get the run around I guess my boy will be on the move to the otherside of the truck.

No. all the other belts work like normal. I should add that the belt clicks? I dunno what is in the retractor, but it sounds like the catch arm is stuck and goes out until you stop, then locks. All my other seat belts just make the seatbelt rubbing the hangar noise. Hopefully that makes sense.

The transmission is 90% better for just being able to drive after the update, but I'm really happy about the increase in gas mileage. I've picked up about 2 mpg. Last weekend, I pulled my ~2,500 lb. pop up camper 250 miles and averaged 17 mpg. This was running 70-72 mph and I did try to draft 18 wheelers on the interstate as much as I could.

No, they need to fix that. Geez, seat belts have been aroun for a while and they still have issues. Ford has a huge recall for seat belt fires!

WIND seems to make a big difference especially when towing. I did notice that if I wasn't drafting and started going up hills, it would quickly downshift to keep speed. (It doesn't do it as much without the camper after the update though.)
That pop up camper sits pretty low and tows well.

So far, I'm doing worse all-around in my 2018 than my 2014. I got a solid 19 mpg in my 2nd gen. I'm sitting at 18.7 in my 3rd gen. Scratching my head here.

If the increased mpg is only there when empty, it doesn't do much for guys that haul. But I suppose when looking at all Tacoma owners in total, the gas mileage is an improvement, as most owners probably run light.
