Popped on TW this evening 4 weeks into my 12 week wait for Pelfreybilt sliders ignorant of the situation. Noticed first thread re Pelfreybilt bankruptcy, filed PayPal dispute while reading through 68 pages. I’m thankful for the site and the community posting it up would have been at least 8 more weeks hoping for a tracking email before I figured it out and tried to get some of my $1300 back. Thanks OP and those trying to help.

I heard it was. Turn your stuff around, ok???

But, I had their front bumper on my rig during their good times. It really sucks to see so many people out of hard earned money. Hopefully folks are able to follow the solid advice about contesting the charges through CC and PayPal.

Satin hit me up last year (end of August 2017) to let me know about the 5th gen 4R dual rear bumper. I opted not to pre-order it. Sounds like that was a good call.

Not gonna lie. I love my armor. like I said before, I've had nothing but great experiences with them. And if I had an order with them I would be on that list too because I would have believed in them until the very end.

my sliders arrived Aug 23rd and rear non gated bumper arrived on the 27th after I sent final payment with my debit card thru FB. again, I got the original prototype not a production version, however the sliders were built in the 10 week timeframe they quoted.

I got sliders from them in July. Waited about 3 months for them. I paid half up front, then paid the remaining balance when I picked them up. They were fine with that option if you ordered over the phone.

Ok that was a long read. This has been brought up just a handful of times but if they were and it can be confirmed that orders and payments were taken within that bk period i only see that as fraud/criminal. Then again since it sounds like a personal bk and NOT the company filing for bk they will probably just say we did/do plan to make an attempt to fill those orders. *shrugs*
From previous reads on here that 70 day prior to bk is big.

There are other vendors out there I am impressed with my RCI skids and will eventually get the trans and case skids from there. Sliders I may end up with RCI too but have also considered SLEE too. Slee has impressed me with their tech articles on their page. They are a just bit $$ for me right now.

Wish everyone luck and hope they get their $$ back. Contact the AG for Cali and also the BBB

Either a really cool one or a really douchebaggy one...

In this case I think it's the latter!

well this sucks, wanted thier front bumper, it was the only one that the cuts on your existing bumper didn't have to be perfect.

He started a group buy for snorkels, took dozens of member's money and proceded to fall off the face of the planet (communication-wise), tcbob stepped in to make it right...long story short.

I just got all caught up on this thread and I completely regret not putting my waders on before trudging through all the shit. Don't get me wrong, some of this thread is worth the reading. But there's a lot of shit to wade through also.

I can't say anything that hasn't been said already and if all the Pelfreybilt products on my truck don't say it enough, I'll clarify: I like(d) their product. They treated me damn good. Hell I even got price breaks and free shipping or discounts in some form or another on every order I made with them. It's a crying shame what's happened and I consider myself lucky USAA was able to get my deposit back for that dual swing-out as easily as they did.

    Here are my thoughts.

First off: some of you saying "if you're not willing to lose $xxxx don't take the risk", you are some damn idiots. No one in their right mind, no matter how much they make, should ever be willing to just throw away money and be perfectly ok with it. So when a person is out hundreds or even thousands of dollars, how bout you respect that they may have busted their ass to earn what they paid for; keep your trap shut. Not all of us have figured out the proper diet to shit money. Some of us scrimp and save pennies at a time to give to a company in good faith that they'll do what is expected of them: deliver.

Second: Their - belonging to a person or persons. There - a location. They're - they are. I genuinely hope that helps someone.

Third: I find it hard to believe that the people responsible for this fiasco did it knowingly. Does that make a difference in the end? Hell no. People paid, they need to be refunded or have their product(s) delivered. Now, I've dealt with Pelfreybilt for front and rear bumpers, front, mid, TC, and fuel tank skids, and sliders. I've personally worked with and talked to Tyler, Satin, Michael, Christina, and Pam; their customer service was always excellent. I find it hard to believe that there was some sinister and nefarious plot to take in as much money as possible and then do what they did. Again, does that make it ok? Hell no. I'm more inclined to believe that they are great fabricators who genuinely wanted to provide a superior product with superior support but they sucked ass at running a company and managing money. One day they finally saw the writing on the wall and tried to do something about it but by then that ship had sailed and was quickly taking on water. In the end, a lot of people are getting fucked and are complaining about it, rightfully so. And I don't blame you. By all means, be fucking livid! You should be! Fight tooth and nail to get every penny back, as you should.

Any way you look at it, it's a sad, sad experience for all of us, buyers and sellers alike. Even those who didn't send a penny to the Pelfreys.

If you've lost money on this deal, I seriously hope everything is made right for you. And if you're married, may your wife/husband have mercy on your soul.

Don’t worry, it’ll still rub the bumper paint when you flex. Ask me how I know :D I don’t care because it’s part of the deal when you do this stuff, but just get what looks good (and actually can be had..) and sand the cuts down to look pretty.

Is there a rough estimate on how much money they took ("are holding") from TW members? A total estimated figure.

The number I keep hearing is roughly 1/2 mil. No clue how much of that is owed to vendors or fabricators....or even if it's an accurate number

Just guessing but the USAF has a number of bases with very long perimeters through rough terrain. Probably souped up some of their security or range support vehicles.

What if there weren’t actually any investors and the whole “in talks” was actually them filing for bankruptcy this entire time. :alien:
