Looks like you could grind those down a bit with a mini grinder. Should be done at the factory.

@Sleevez - those rivets shouldn’t be making contact. I’m guessing it got assembled with the hinge too far in. If you dm me your order details I’ll have Ben, our operations manager, get in contact with you to resolve the issue. It’s an easy fix. And we have touch up paint matched to that color. But definitely don’t grind the rivets on the backside or they won’t be waterproof anymore :)

I love the Deckd system but I'm unsure if it leaves a bunch of unused space? I may go with it though base don the weather sealing and solid build though.

Thanks for this post. It makes it reassuring to hear since I have a decked system too and worry that it will be too hard for my 5’1” wife to get in and out of the GFC.

If there is a short person using the gfc, you will want a platform, decked system, stool, cooler or fridge to make getting in easier.

Yep, all the operable panels have two latches, each one has a keyed lock. So 6 locks total, and of course in a Gen 3 your tail gate locks. Should be secure. I’d warn you though I’m pretty certain these panels “could” be prayed open without too much trouble if some one wanted too. They’re only aluminum. Although if you knew how easy it is to get inside a locked house you prob wouldn’t sleep as well either. Though I’m sure I’m NYC you secure all your stuff a little better.

Keys on every lock are the same BTW.

I’m actually kinda stumped on how i can “lock myself in”. Say i want to stealth camp at Walmart in my bed and not lift the GFC. Anyone have any idea if you can latch yourself in from the inside doesn’t need to be “locked”

Not just for protection but really be sealed from bugs and rain. Unless the latches are closed the panels do not seal on the space frame.

No problem, this one gives a little better detail without the rear panel in the way. I prob look like a goon but i was pretty happy about my GFC.

Anyway my wife is 5’4” and can get up easily in and out of the top section. She was reading and climbing up and down for a couple hours yesterday while i pulled my Decked apart and permantly mounted my tilting fridge slide!!!

Like i mentioned without a platform, Decked or otherwise egress is not nearly as easy. I’m fact without the Decked it prob wouldn’t be super fun for me either at least at 0300 when nature calls lol...

As mentioned a stool or step ladder would suffice. It’s worth noting though with the platform and my 63qt arb fridge installed the fridge is perfect seated height to use the 25x50 panel as a desk.... or dining room table if you can Rained in.

I’ve got no horse in the race but I LOVE my Decked system. Absolutely zero complains. There’s a little wasted space but i can’t think of any platform system where you wouldn’t struggle somewhat. What it provides in storage and a big flat floor (above the wheels wells) is way way worth it to me. Plus to be honest the Decked holds ALL my camping gear as well as recovery. With the exception of bedding, dry good, and what’s in my fridge. They hold a lot if you plan right and have gear that fits long and narrow (I shopped spcifically around those needs).

The only draw back i see is the weight. With my Decked AND GFC and fridge I’m 500lbs heavier before and food water or gear....

Thanks DoorDing but you missed the second half of my paragraph. Say i want to sleep in my bed (of the truck only), like in Griz country or more likely stealth camping who knows where, no GFC Popped, because it’s cool but it sure isn’t stealth. Doesn’t have to be “locked” but latched would be nice since it’s not bug or water tight without being latched.... I want to latch the panels from the inside

Someone 3D printed some little pieces to do that I believe. Somewhere back in the last 2 months I think. I think they said you just close the panels and stick these “keys” in the latches to keep the latches closed and locked, without locking them from the outside

On another note a tilting fridge slide seems ideal for my application. Through bolted with stainless 5/16-18 bolts backed with fender washers. Best part is the Decked is JUST low enough that the weight of the fridge just sits on the tailgate so little to no forces on the slide or Decked when tilted.

Np and yes I did! I knew about it for a while cause of work ;). Looks good. Have some parts to save up for since AEV is right in town. More excited about the GFC coming as it should finish production this week and I should be on Graeme's next East Coast run!
