I've been meaning to ask you since you know about the audio whizbangs, I've never added anything to my vehicles audio wise and was wondering if you knew how much it roughly costs to add a sub to the stock h/u? Nothing too crazy, just a little bump.

That is totally dependant on the quality of the equipment. Without resarch (been a while since I've priced stuff) I'd say you could pull off a decent set up for around 600. You or a friend who is capable of building an enclosure and installing could reduce that number by 200. I'm guessing at 2 for sub, 150 for amp, 50 for misc parts, rest in labor at a shop.

Does a good job of supplementing the sound without taking up too much space

This is a decent deal and should work for what you're after. Still need the amp install parts and associated labor.

I'm sure it will be here soon. I'm a nervous wreck at work hoping it doesn't flood us. :(

That seems to be the issue I'm facing, my phone is 3-1/4" with case, so the larger one seems to be the obvious choice.... Except for the fact that I use another phone as a music player/podcasts which measures at 3" exactly so it may or may not work with the larger mount.... We'll see....

Thanks for the info gents! I reckon I could handle the install myself. This sounds like it could be another expensive endeavor so I think I'll do the tint first.

DC guys get all the fun. Rear door speakers & lotsa room for a sub or two behind the seats. Us access cab guys gotta shoehorn stuff in wherever we can. Sub is a definite improvement tho & well worth it.

Yeah, I shouldn't bitch too loud. That's even worse for room.

Check out craigslist for the box, and Frys always has good deals on amps. Subs are your call where and how much to spend.. You can use a second gen box, you just have to cut out a small part for where the window motor is. 2 10's is pleeeenty if they're quality

Then you just need the converter for the deck - 20 bucks
    Wiring - 30 bucks
And while your back there and don't mind the cost, dynamat. I think its 80 or so for that area
