I’m honestly starting to believe that is indeed what happened. Especially with this being the third time is the charm.

That's what happened, they were taking orders for a year plus that they still haven't even shipped anything for a lot of people, they also took some orders up till the end of August.

Yep. I ordered a steel front skid approximately middle of July, called first to make sure they had them in stock, which they did. Had to wait a couple weeks for powder coating, received it August 3rd. Now I have to figure out what to do for the rest of my skids, whether or not other companies' will be compatible.

I ordered both bumpers last year in late July/early August. They had a bunch on hand and shipped within the week.

My fuse panel came in within a week.

    Skids in about a week.

I ordered sliders in March of this year and was informed they were next up in production and they'd arrive early June. I received them in early August.

We are all trying to figure out how all this came to be. Here's what I think.
You don't wake up one day and realze there's no money, they must have known things were bad at some point. With a company that kept getting orders on a constant basis, I think it wouldn't be that difficult to cut spending, make changes to try and reverse the problem. They either didn't know how to react and make changes or they decided the bankrptcy route so as not to get screwed in the end. They made sure money came in for a while to help lighten their financial load so when the dust settled, they would be in a better situation. This is all speculation of course. It would be nice if they came forward and up front and honest.

I've addressed this in my own sub-forum but I figured why not chime in now.

I also spent time with them in Utah and they seemed like great folks. The evidence points to scheming IMO regardless of how I feel about them as people.

This was my thought as well.

    Correct.

It sickens me that good TW folks are out their hard earned $ over another vendor fail.

I do not believe that any of the Pelfry's or their former employees are banned from TW yet you do not see them posting at all. They've run away from the very place that fostered their business. To me that's the shittiest move - the TW family was here long before the Pelfrybuilt one and they've turned their backs on that as well.

It's funny how all this ill will might have been avoided if they had gone a chapter 11. That at least gives the indication that they're trying to make things work.

Chapter 7 is like fuck you guys we're outta here.

Just read 71 pages before saying my bit.

If one we’re inclined to be paranoid, the fact that they are bankrupsty pros, the fact that they have changed their names and the irony of “pelf” makes me think this was one huge scam the entire time.

Add in that just in the last year they started offering all sorts of new products and group buys and pre-sale. The fact that they listed everyone they owed a product or refund too as creditors. The fact that they went silent and tried to get people not to yank the rug out from under them while they put the final touches on fucking all of us over.

Anyone who doubted this as anything but nefarious is a gullable fool. Anyone who gave them the benefit of the doubt and told others to hold tight should be apologizing now instead of making condescending insults at the people who listened to you. Thats you @jberry813 You vouched for the pelfrey’s after being one of the only people to actually speak to them on the phone when all of this was developing. Now where are they?

Looks to me like they spent 8 years building a business and building a reputation of trust and “family” just waiting to run the clock out and file bankrupsty as soon as they had enough of other peoples money secured for themselves. I fell for it too.

Fortunately my bank got me back the $1345 that i paid pelfreybilt via debit on 7/24/18.

Sucks for anyone else who didnt get their money back. Either way they deserve prison and i hope I'm the lucky guy that gets to watch tyler pick up his teeth with two broken arms.

I thought a mod actually said he knew for a fact the investor talk was 100% legit.

Things can change real quick when you are selling items you don't have in stock. A few delays in production but the overhead stays constant. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt but, as you pointed out, it sounds like production slowed but they kept taking orders/money from people. Im trying to be compassionate to their position but considering their history you cannot deny that they had BK on their minds. How long ago they decided to go that route, no one knows.

If they actually 'talked' to an investor means nothing. I can go out and call a investor and ask questions and fill out an application, interview etc. This will probably take less then a day to do. They could of 'talked' to an investor just to make it seem like they were trying to recover from their financial mess but in the end everything was planned out. Take as many orders in as possible in a short amount of time and run.

Pelfreybild started their group buys for the dual rear swing outs in July 2018. To me this sounds fishy. Take peoples money July and August and close the doors and pocket $500k+ of peoples money.

They knew exactly what they were doing, and that is spending money on themselves that was not theirs, and since Chapter 7 is an old friend of theirs that's the route Satin and Tyler have always taken.

I looked up Pelfreys home address on google maps street view. They sure have a huge Motorhome in their backyard. They are probably on a road trip now across States..

Seems to happen a lot when people complain about vendors....more popular ones. For instance a thread was locked that was for people complaining about a rack that had rusting issues and not much being done about it.

That’s all I’m going to say. I enjoy TW still, but sometimes I feel it’s lost it’s way whenever these threads get locked. I mean I understand when it gets locked for getting out of hand, but sometimes they just get locked for no good reason other than to make a vendor happy.
