Please pardon my newbness but can someone tell me WTF this is for? I have a few nights in my CVT Shasta Extended but they’ve been rushed setups at night (not even opening windows) and still have no clue what this is for...

It has a U-shaped bar that fits it to hold the overhang open, you mean its for the actual annex room? I haven’t used the annex yet so it makes sense if it’s for that.

I'm taking delivery of an Overland Pros Mojave Explorer 1400 tomorrow. I'm going to open the box and inspect prior to the delivery dude leaving. I'm looking for damage to the base, rips, all parts are present and zippers working. What else should I look for?

I have this same tent. That middle telescoping bar is a cross member for the u-shaped bar that holds up the fabric that hangs over the ladder. You use this regardless if you setup the lower annex or not. There's a small opening above the screen door where you connect one end. The other end of that bar connects to the u-shaped one once that is inserted into those two black support pieces (that are located on either side of the mattress on the floor)

You’re the man thank you! I guess just to stabilize the U bar? It’s seemed ok on its own so far but might as well use it!

So the edge of my CVT Mt. Shasta Pioneer Extended's canvas material has started to come out of the channel/slot that holds it to the base. I finally have the tent off the truck today to get this fixed, but I'm getting stumped on how to get the canvas material far enough off so I can rethread the end of the canvas material back through to ensure it seeds properly.

I've disassembled the inner frame so the two halves of the floor are no longer connected, but i still can't remove the fabric from the base. What am I missing here?!

    Pics below for reference...

I have the tent folded in half like a book (so on its side). I don't see how you can get the door side of the fabric out of the channel first. The sides prevent it from sliding no more than a couple of inches.

Do I have to take it off both sides of the floor at the same time or something?

Same here. Ran a James Baroud tent on my cabrac for close to 6 months with 3-4 extensive offroad trips and I can't see any signs of bending on my tent. That is with 2 adults and 1 kid in the tent.
