Correct. SCS does a 17x8.5 with a -10mm offset. Method does 17x8.5 0mm offset.
SCS is 10mm wider.

 

Yes and no. Because when you compare wheels, backspacing is a static number and can be compared across all wheels. Offset changes with wheel width. So a 17x9 -12 mm offset and 17x8.5 -12mm offset are different, thus comparing offset does nothing. It just allows you to be able to compare wheels more efficiently. Most suspension manufactures will also base wheel fitments with backspacing because it will tell you how much the wheel needs to be pushed out to clearance for their suspension.

What lift are you running? did you have to cut the cab brace? any rubbing?

 

I sort of like how these look. Not that much though. this should become an option on all their wheel styles.

So are people using these wheels to look cool or are we wheeling them yet? Let’s see some super low pressure tests.

 

I too would like to see how these wheels perform off roading. Specifically with lower tire pressure to see if that added lock lip helps or not. Otherwise they're just for looks.

 

Haha come on guys, all the wheels even SCS are for looks. Fake bead locks are everywhere these days. Unless your talking trailered off road only rigs, but I doubt those would use these instead real beadlocks.

 

Are you running stock lugs??? I was under the impression that stock lugs were too short and there wouldn't be enough thread on the lugs.

 

the 701's don't have a fake beadlock ring; they have a ribbed channel inside the rim that is designed to hold the bead in place against the inside rim wall and increase friction on the bead, to lessen the chance of unseating the bead at low pressure.

 

I would love to see some real world testing on these. I find it hard to believe those ridges could do much, but if it works then that is awesome and for sure is a game changer. Just haven’t seen any proof of it yet.

 

The height of the bead seat surface is also taller. So a combination of the ridges and the taller bead seat make it harder to de-bead.

 

I see, I am sure with both of those things it is an improvement over standard wheels then. I still would like to see some real world testing, hopefully as more of these get out in the wild someone will be willing to see how low you can run them with no issue.

 

Camburg ran them on their overland Tundra for close to 3 months, but we haven't had any personal experience here yet.
