I've been looking at 2016 Tacomas and have narrowed the paint colors down to SW, SSM, MGM, and BBP. Out of all of them, I really love the look of the BBP and MGM. Just wondering if you guys could let me know what some of the pros and cons of these colors are and how well they will hold up over time.

BBP is discontinued for 2019, so that would be a special color to have. With MGM there have been a couple of cases of the paint looking mismatched, so pay close attention to the doors on a sunny day before buying that. Silver looks good with the chrome badges or black if you plasti dip them, so you cant go wrong there. In my area all city work trucks are white, so I would never get a white truck.

What do you like best? What color would make you look back at the truck and smile everytime you walked away from it?

I really like the BBP, I think it makes the truck really pop. Silver does look really good but I think it would grow tired of it after a couple years. Blue is my #1 choice but MGM is really starting to compete with it. I just think it looks badass.

    Haha, Ditto.
I regretted getting a white F-150 before the Tacoma and as much as I love the look of white Tacoma's that's one of the main reasons I'll never get another white truck.

if you really have no preference, you might ask the seller what the color of the primer is. in time you will inevitably catch a rock chip, etc. less visible is good. and maybe consider the dust/dirt your
truck will pick up in your locale. having it look dirty 2 days after washing it is annoying (though some consider that a badge of honor).

edit: i never noticed how many silver car/trucks there are in parking lots til i could not easily find my SSM.

2nd edit: just for fun...as well as above considerations, i considered i already had a blue vehicle and quicksand was the exact color of a nissan (tropic tan) i had for over 30 yrs...just could not buy into that color again. it was great but had to move on :)

    Huh?
How would casual Joe Schmo have any idea what color primer was used on the car they are selling? I'm a "car guy" and certainly couldn't answer that for any car I own.

If your looking at used 2016's then color choices will be obvously be limited to what you find for sale, that said I would try to locate MGM.

i think most primers are whiteish gray. someone in a dealership or body shop would be able to answer that, not hard to find out. (or just look for a rock chip on the used vehicle)
edit: unfortunately i knew the primer color of every vehicle i owned :)
