I live in N.E. KS and recently got a 2018 TRD Offroad. It didn't come with mud flaps from the dealer, so I'm wondering if they are a good investment.

We get snow and lots of slush+sand on the roads. I also occasionally drive off-road where gravel is included. I'm wondering if the flaps will help preserve the body and underside from rock chips.

Any suggestions as to what brand of flaps would work and look well?

ps. I searched for a thread that contained an answer but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. Apologize in advanced if this was answered already.

They aren't perfect but I think they offer a decent amount of protection from stones, especially if you drive on dirt roads. Also tends to limit the amount of snow that gets packed underneath. I put weather tech on my truck and they are really easy to install with no drilling and look great.

WeatherTech has nice mudflaps if you want rigid plastic they are wider and shorter than the oem flaps.

So sounds like WeatherTech is quite popular! Any info on more flexible flaps? Such as those that wouldn't crack or break if a rock or steep incline got in the way? I read on Amazon reviews that some folks complain about rigid plastic flaps breaking off.

Many folks remove their factory units out of either visual distaste or fear of ripping them off when off road.

Check out the marketplace and you may find some for sale. All 3rd gens should work AFAIK.

I know you can't do a for sale until you're over 50 posts, but IIRC you can post a WTB. Which might stir the pot a bit if you don't find what you want FS.

I suppose the aftermarket bits may be better. But I bet they aren't enough better to justify the cost delta over an OE set that someone doesn't want. Meaning they should be cheap.

There's a pretty extensive thread on this subject already. Just search for weathertech mud flaps.

Rokblokz are the goto flexible flaps.
