crazy - going back to the drawing board as I compared a bunch of sliders before ordering and went back to the notebook - I had written "unkonwn vendor" next to Pelfreybilt as a con - as I had already had good experiences with both C4Fab and CBI and they were/are in the mix. Should have gone with the gut on that one.

If TW staff setups and distributes the cash for the people who end up SOL, I’m sure a lot of people can donate. That’s when a community like this helps and can come together. I have seen something similar happen on a gun forum I was part of for memebers devistated by weather events. I’ll kick in a $100 if it gets going.

And I posted this early in the thread but didn’t get bites, as I’m guessing not everyone is reading every single post, so I’ll say again. If anyone who is SOL by this ordered skids, I have a like new Mobtown transmission skid (reinforced aluminum for stock non exhaust reroute 3rd gen Taco) that you can have for free. Comes with all new hardware.

I guess I shouldn't have sold that Tacoma Skid Trilogy set I bought from you last year to @lordetaco and actually installed them and sold the Pelfrey ones...

But at least I know which ones to get next if I decide to replace all my armor, which I may.

Will you accept a Money Gram in 2 separate transactions? I will have a courier deliver them.

If anybody is wanting to pass on a skid plate or something like that.. I’d just pick an affected person, PM them, and offer.

Cuts down on the possibility of good karma theft, as has been mentioned. If people are coming to you the water can be much more murky.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
Yep we are normally the second set of skids our customers buy lol. Others don't hold up to the abuse so they need an upgrade to pure beef! I don't mind it I like the stories of people destroying their skids from other manufactures and getting ours and beating the ever-loving hell out of them.

If you can't sue them personally can you sue to company still or did they not have an LLC or anything? That seems hard to believe.

It seems like fraud that they were taking orders and asking for cash just days before.

This is the piece I'm not sure I understand...they are incorporated, but they filed for personal bankruptcy...not business bankruptcy. Isn't the whole point of incorporating to protect your personal assets from the liabilities resulting from the business? Would there not be assets of the business to sell off?

I love them. They are solid! Only down side is anytime you have to take them off to do work they are heavy af, and they didn’t work with the Mobtown Sliders so I had to cut the transfer cross member.

IMHO..NO!!! Too much liability with that and how is it determined who gets how much? On top of, who has the time to manage the $$, the list of people owed, determining if they are TW or new members. If something goes wrong with it of someone feels it’s mismanaged...how does that end up?

Great idea in concept, nightmare in execution.

    Snugtop, more to come!
Update from my credit union. My ACH was fully refunded, I filed the dispute last Thursday or Friday. My credit union said that Pelfreybilt's bank still exists and has money in it so that's how they were able to pull the money back. If you haven't filed a dispute, you should do it now while their account is still open (as I understand it). I also blocked them from my account, just to be safe at this point.

This makes it all sound even more fishy. Why personal bankruptcy?

I agree...pushing for TW staff to manage a charity fund is a bad idea.

If you want to be charitable, participate in the TW Secret Santa and ask the organizers to Pair you with a member wronged in this Pelfrey situation.

I can see it now, skinny jeans, beard, a man bun and an extremely low v-neck white tee and the comment “it’s called coors light, you’ve probably never heard of it”

    Fair enough.

I don't think it would be too difficult to manage, but could see how it could go south if someone wanted to question it.

That being said, I've seen the TW community pull together all sorts of times before to help members out. Also given the fact that Pelfreybilt was built, at least in part, by TW, and used TW to host group buys where people got screwed, it would be fitting for the community to help those people out.

Maybe there's another way the community could help out? Sending them a SS gift would be a nice gesture, but doesn't solve the issue of the thousands of dollars lost.

Yea, i was going to swap them out and then when they came in I ended up needing the money back from them so had to sell them.

Oh well, at least if I decide to sell my current ones, I know which ones I want to buy again...

Sure is going to suck for whoever I get in this years TWSS... cause they will be getting some Pelfrey swag as one present

I didn't say they had a responsibility to do so.

I think it would be the correct thing for them to do.
