Just ordered the same racks. Hope you can share what you have found out so far. I am planning to mount an awning so not sure if I will be able to use these or need to do something custom.

I have my soft RTT on trailer, but I really want a small hard shell RTT for my truck.

Don't you want to match soft on trailer, and soft on truck?

    Its aerodynamic too

From what I can tell it's the Prinsu mounting feet that are maybe deflecting a little causing the bending you're seeing. Must be just a Tacoma thing. My tent is nearly 200 lbs (Tepui Kukenam XL Ruggedized) and it regularly has 4 people in it and my Prinsu rack doesn't even blink with that kind of weight. But the way it mounts is different and there isn't a 90* bend at the feet like there is on the Tacoma bars.
Either way I'm still surprised yours is bending. That's really not much weight at all.

Anybody with experience with the Tepui Ayer, can provide some input on how snugly two adults (6', 175lbs, 5'8" 140 lbs) will be?

Ayer is basically a one person tent.

I didn't take it as complaining, just commenting on what you are seeing. The 80 series Prinsu rack is crazy strong because of the full length foot that spreads the load down the entire length of the gutter. Probably the strongest rack they make.

It's a little tight but doable. You should be fine depending how close you two are

    I don't think so.
The Ayer is a legit 2 person tent and will sleep two just fine but you will be snug and won't have room left over for other gear. That can be a little too close for comfort if you're two dudes that like to avoid "man-touching", but if you're with your significant other it's no big deal. But if you want to have some room left over for gear or a bit more sleeping space to spread out a little, then it's worth stepping up to the Kukenam/Autana model.

i know im larger than most but its tight sometimes with the wife and I in a Kuk. I couldnt even imagine an Ayer unless you're both a side sleeper. its only 8" narrower but it feels like feet

I’m really impressed with the rack. The welds are nice and it feels really sturdy. I was able to use it as a mounting point for a hammock and there are slots for accessories if you need it. I was worried about losing visibility out of the back but it’s not bad. I can see behind me through a small gap under the tent and the side view mirrors show everything else. When I turn my head to check for blind spots I can see everything. I have my big trip planned in a few weeks so i will post more updates.

haha wife basically sleeps like a mummy and shes 5'3" on a good day so she doesnt take much space. Me being 6'9" and broad shoulder doesnt help my own cause much.
