What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

WTF, you still haven't lifted the front yet?

I thought you already lifted it & thought I hax missed the pics or something. Haha, man I wouldn't be able to let myself drive like that for even a day. When my truck was only an 1" high in the front it drove me nuts.

Hurry up already!

Did you install the temp sensor? Also, does your compass actually work with it being that close to the roof? I had a mirror out of an RX330 and it wouldn't work unless it was closer to the windshield. The roof was blocking the signal.

 

Yeah, I'm using the bolt alone and not in pair with the bushings but so far so good. My 84 has smaller bushings so I couldn't use the Daystar ones but I have OME. I had to file the inside sleeve in order for the bolt to slide through the collar without resistance but it was the cheapest option I could find. Time will tell if the bolt will hold up to the abuse of on/off road use. I would probably buy them for my Tacoma too if I needed them.

I thought the sensor was in the mirror but I don't know how to turn it on or where to get one. I really want to have temp and compass. Any ideas?

Temp sensors are usually located in front of the radiator on the vehicle. The temp readout is rarely for inside temperature.

 

Sofa king jealous of you cook. Look at that nice warm dry garage to work in. !!! Not of the work you have to do though.

 

I've had them for about 4+ years. No issues yet. Granted haven't taking off the leaf springs in a while.

 

Here are my rear lights. They are cheapos. I’ll replace them with better ones down the road if need be. Just broke right now lol

I think figuring out why he needs a locker would be a better reason! Lol like going wheeling and getting stuck.

 

Ehh, we all treat our moneypits differently I suppose. But wasting money on a locker for a pavement princess is dumb IMO. If I were him, I would fix that 5 lug and ship it, or better yet, I wouldve never bought the thing. Heck, if it werent for the 3 or 4 snowstorms we see in NC each winter, I would've gladly purchased a pre-runner. I don't go offroad, maybe in the future that will change though. Not too many places that are close enough to do in just a weekend.

 

I've do like 90% or more of all my offroading with no locker...ever.

So..yeah.

 

I agree, Which why im not going to add a front locker when I regear.

 

It's nice to have a garage to do the work. I struggled doing things when I lived in an apartment. Plus it's nice I can leave it all week if I wanted to since it's not the DD

But yeah the work I've got to do isn't going to be fun but we shall see how tough it is.........
