new bumper doesnt accomodate tow package

I bought a after market rear bumper from all pro offroad after calling them and asking if it would work with my tow package they said it would so i bought it. I tried putting it on and had to take the tow package completly offbecause it doesnt work . DOes anyone know how i can go about putting my tow bar back on for a cheap price

 

Return the bumper. Make them pay for return shipping too.

I believe that they make one that does accomodate the tow package. Perhaps they sent you the wrong one?

when you bought the bumper did you get the one with the receiver hitch option? the receiver hitch from the tow package will not work with most aftermarket bumper because most use the mounting locations for the receiver hitch.

Also you didn't remove the whole tow package just the receiver.

 

Mine uses those mounting locations and still allows me to use the stock hitch : )

if that was such a big requirement I would have done more research to make sure. Like see pictures of it mounted so you know it will work.

 

Perhaps I'm misinformed, but don't most aftermarket bumpers for 2nd gen tacos use the same mounting location as the factory hitch, thus requiring removal of the hitch and a bumper that incorporates a hitch if you want to continue to tow?

 

Yeah. Many times the hitch is an option.

 

Cause calling the company that made it and asking isn't doing a lot of research...

I'll be interested to see...cause I thought it would fit with the normal hitch- thought I had seen photos like that around here.

It comes with an option high clearance hitch (which is the option I'd take to maintain the whole "high clearance" improvement that the bumper provides.

 

Just saying, with all the bad wrap AP is getting it wouldn't hurt to go beyond than just calling.

 

maybe the OP could go down to All-Pro's shop and check it out. It might not hurt to pay them a visit.

I am about 3 hours away, and iv been looking for awhile for a bumper that will work with my tow hitch and iv called all the companies and all pro said it would i called back and said it wouldnt work and he appologized and said he had seen pictures from a guy in canada who did some fabrication to make it work

 

That was me you spoke to Seth . I appologize for the misinformation I gave you . I had seen our bumper mounted with the factory receiver hitch but was unaware of there being any kind of modification in making it work . Again , I appologize for that . It was not my intention to misinform you and I take full responsibility for that .
