ROCKtober Therapy - THE Moab Gathering

I was thinking of bringing a generator and welders too. What welder are you bringing? I have mig tig stick and plasma I could bring to complete the set up

 

It's a generator/stick welder (one unit) It does put out 240Volt power though. Rocky and I have talked about bringing the compressor and the plazma cutter, the porta ban, the steel chop saw and various other tools but the truth is if i'm not bringing the lift down with that stuff theres no point.

 

I could just bring 110 with some flux core in case we need to glue something together. I'm not great at stick. Does it have a 110v outlet?

Ah it'll run three of those 110 lincons at the same time.

Look if you want tons I have a spare set just open up your wallet and I'll bring them down. Getting them built is of course extra.

 

I have two weeks of vacation time, that I''l loose if I don't use it by Jan 1. Moab's been on my bucket list, no better time than the present, I'm in. Anyone else from Norcal, or even Socal planning on going wanting convoy up?

Nope. Getting crowded that time of year and the bugs and heat are worse.

Crowds are less, temps are better and less bugs in October... plus the foliage is a nice addition.

after shit went down with BFE, it's been tough to get the event where it used to be without going through a lot of permitting and fees.... so we've toned it back down to an annual gathering.

 

That’s cool. Do you guys have trails planned or just wing it? Go as a huge group or a few small groups and do different stuff?

 

This is how and most other do it but we plan what trail to run the trail the night before at the camp fire.

 

yup, most trail runs are formed evening before or morning of... some people come in with a group and will wheel with them all weekend doing their thing... others come in with an open plan.

i'm sure you have a list of trails you'd like to run... and i'm sure you won't be the only one with some of those trails in mind..

That’s a good way to do it. Yeah but I didn’t even find out about this until last night though, so this is a little short notice, I’ll have to think about it for a day or two.

I just wanna do Pritchett canyon. Other trails are a bonus.

 

I do Pritchett every year at least once. We will probably be running it on a Saturday looks like there's only maybe 5 trucks doing it that i know of.
