Do your a/t's get better or worse mileage? Because I got highway tires put on mine, it's where I spend 98% of my time, and I found my mileage went down from when I had hankook a/t.

What kind of mirror extensions are those? I just bought a Keystone 1800rb and I don't want to block the lane departure sensors in the mirrors.

Best to quote who it is you are asking the question to. They they get notified they have a question and everyone else knows what you are asking of who. As for mirror extensions. there are many out there. The best I have found are the ProEFX replacement mirrors. But not sure they are made for the 16+ taco and I doubt they have any sensors in them.

Good to know. Cause I have sold a few here at work just from people seeing them on my truck or asking what we have to help a tacoma tow.

I have purchased a 2014 Jayco 198RD, just the other day and we are looking forward to lots camping in 2019. I believe I, have finally got the towing weights figured out, for my 2017 TRD Sport.
    1) Curb Weight 4400 LB
    2) GVWR 5601 LB
    3) Towing Capacity 6400 LB (Max towing)
    4) CVWR 12,001 LBS - 640 LB for hitch weight = 11,361 LB ( Toyota Specs)
    5) CVWR 11,361 - 6400 = 5759 Total trailer weight (MAX).
    6) Trailer GVWR = 5900 - 5759 LB loaded, or 141 LB to heavy for the truck (Maxed out)
So, if I, keep the trailer weight to around 4900 LB loaded, my CVWR would be 10,501 LB, or 800 LB to spare. I would also have to pay close attention to the hitch weight, to avoid going over.

Use grease, or graphite to lube the hitch ball?
I know the truck could pull more, but I have to ensure I am legal next year as I, am traveling to a Province that will hand out fines for over weight recreation vehicles, and are always searching for infractions.

I hope I got this correct, I am very tired.:D:D:D

you'll definitely need a WDH for that rig, and you'll want to watch your axle weights closely when you load up.

They included a WD hitch with the trailer. It is a 2014 Jayco 198RD. Will be picking it up in the spring. 20180910_144226.jpg

weigh your empty truck and the empty trailer before loading to see what sort of margins you actually have to work with.

its surprising how fast food, water, beverages, bedding, towels, clothes add up. and trailer makers are notorious for publishing optimistic curb weights for the stripped base model with zero options. ditto your truck weight may well be higher than you are assuming, especially if you've added any accessories.

Nice trailer. You should be okay if you're smart about loading and driving.

I've towed a similar weight trailer in the Sierra Nevada Mtns for the past 4 years now and tee truck does fine. Have about 4,000 miles with a Jayco x213 behind my Tacoma...4,500lbs dry as equipped.

What's a WD hitch? I am looking at a Jay Flight SLX 232RB.... The accessories are adding up fast, almost as bad as the aftermarket wants of my 2017 TRD Offroad.

Weight distribution hitch. It puts the weight back on the truck front axles and trailer axles

You always have a choice. Always. This is one of those types of decisions that don't seem like a bad idea at the time, but if something happens, even if the other driver was totally at fault, you're going to be in a sling. And you literally took a picture of your truck in the parking lot of a store that rents full sized pickup trucks  You've got a nice truck, but in this case it was the wrong tool for the job.
