Ridiculous. Lane reversal isn't needed for a storm that will make landfall 200 - 250 miles N.

All my family lives in CHS and I grew up there but live outside of DC now. They are all staying and think it's ridiculous what's going on. CHS won't be bad at all but prayers for Wilimington and nearby areas.

You're right...a coastal city that floods when it drops an inch of rain will be totally fine facing 17+ inches of rain and hurricane force winds

Plus hurricanes are unpredictable large storms...this one has rain bands that spanned 500 miles

Even a slight shift to bring the eye into the Shallotte/Little River area would put an awful lot of hurricane over Charleston

Far better to get people out now than wait till Friday morning and have an oh shit moment if the thing shifts

Dont want evacuation routes clogged with people when the storm shows up

Replacing everything worn, broken, and rusted.
Yes sir. Generally empty kegs are frowned upon. But useful in disaster scenarios. Better than running to the store for bottles of water.

This storm definitely still has a chance to shift south...
