Did you mean Tom Hanks, or Tom Seleck, or Tom Arnold?

You will never be Tom Cruise.

Of course, this was before he went insane with the whole scientology thing.

I was a junior in high school...I remember that morning, my brother, sister and I were getting ready for school and my mom always had Good Morning America on the TV. They were showing breaking news footage of the first tower that got hit and speculating that it was a small private plane/jet that 'accidentally' crashed into the tower, I remember them saying that. Then we were in the car on the way to school listening on the radio when the second plane hit and by then it was obvious it was a commercial airliner and the talk immediately shifted to terrorism. Got to school and it was all anyone was talking about, was a crazy day indeed.

Another thing I remember about that time.... I remember in my weight training class a few weeks later, we had a new "kid" come to the school and he only ever took class when it was PE or weight training. He was in incredible shape, looked older than most kids (like he was in his early 20s) and all he ever talked about was how he was joining the military after graduation and constantly asked us about what we were doing and telling us we should go with him to the recruitment office after school and talk to his friend. After about 6 weeks he disappeared, never saw him around school again. I didn't think anything of it at the time but in hindsight, I know exactly why he was there.

Even in a small town in Alberta we were watching. Everyone knew it was big, although when it was happening there were no details. We were old enough to know when a plane hits a building something is going down.. I’m glad we watched and I didn’t miss that moment in history

I was 10 years old, still asleep in the upper bunk of a bunk bed when it happened. I remember my sister waking me up and just saying "mom will tell you what happened but just pray for our country and our president and that he makes the right decisions"
My dad got sent home from work because he works in a government building and they were worried about follow up attacks.

my grade school was over sheltering us. pissed alot of parents off for not explaining what was going on. i did stay home and watched the news and a teacher actually came to my house and saw me watching cnn about it. and asked me if i was sick, i remember clearly saying to her without looking at her saying "yea im sick. sick to know im the same species as these people who would do such a thing."

I posted a pic last year on December 7th that I took when I was there and some people didn't even get why. It's sad how quickly we let ourselves forget about tragedy, and the sacrifice people have made for our freedom.

All I remember was that the aviation maintenance field took a big hit. My dad lost his job and we moved to SC so he could work as a gvmt contractor on fuel tankers (KC10's I think). A year later his old job took him back so we moved back to NC and business was as usual.

i understand it in a way. these 2 days are the most tragic in american history, not much to celebrate. its important we remember them for sure but idk what we can do for them that wont offend people who lost family and friends on those days.

the only people who get triggered by war in general are to naive to think humanity cant live in peace. if you lost someone i understand it and i apologize if i offended you for my words. but i grew up around my grandpa a former-marine in korean war. learned alot from him about the brutality of humanity he didnt want me to be blind with world peace and its dreams.
