Saturday, September 8th, Redbird State Recreation Area, Linton Indiana. Small group predominantly from Central/Northern Indiana, with a few from Kentucky and Ohio. Cool park! If interested, reply here. Will have all the details finalized by weeks end. Come along and help drag Nissan XTerra's out of the mud!

Spotted this Taco with KY plates out in Fort Davis, TX this weekend. In the Texas forum we have a stalking thread to post sightings. Sorry if this isn't the right place for this.

    what up Kentucky!

Im thinking I may be in your beautiful bluegrass state next month for just a few days. (nothing booked yet, but looking at Oct 22-26. And not likely all those days, just some time that week)

Im a Makers Mark Ambassador and the barrel with my name on it tase finally come of age! My bottles are awaiting my arrival and safe return to my bar cabinet. TW has been great to me in the past and Im hoping she won't let me down just yet! Im looking for a room (I can settle for sofa) to crash on for 3-4 nights in the Loretto, Bardstown area.

Anyone? Anyone? I'll spring for dinner....

Make sure to visit Limestone Branch Distillery. It's maybe 10 minutes away from Maker's in Lebanon. It's a free tour.

I might have a spot for you. Will have to check first, no guarantees.

I live 10 mins from Bardstown and 20 mins from Makers.

Limestone is okay. Glad it was free, at least. Very small and they loved to pound the fact that one of the Beam's was their long lost great great great uncle daddy cousin mamaw.

The Moonpie Shine is definitely worth the tasting. I've got a bottle of the Jalapeno Shine on top of my fridge, great for making a faux Bloody Mary and a wake your ass up shot in the mornings!

I'll let you in on a secret; :gossip: bottles of Maker's are cheaper at other places than the distillery. If you want quantity that isn't your ambassador bottles.
I've got at least 4 more years of waiting on mine.

While you're in the neighborhood, swing by Wild Turkey in Lawrenceburg. Say hi to my old buddy Jimmy Russell. He's the master distiller and brains behind marketing Turkey. He's in his late 80's but still shows up at work EVERY DAY. If you walk in for a tour, you'll meet Jimmy and his sons.

Through my job, I've also got to be good friends with 5 generations of the Samuals family (Maker's Mark) and Booker Noe (Beam) These people are salt of the earth, down home good folks. Love to see people like them succeed. And they have.....Beyond our wildest dream of success...

I'm about 20 minutes north of Bardstown. Closest to Beam. Close to 4 Roses, and there's dozens of specialty distillers/small batch distillers now in downtown Louisville. That's where the bourbon industry got it's international kick start start when Elijah Craig rolled the first barrel onto an Ohio River flat boat bound for New Orleans. He is recognized as the first licensed distiller in Kentucky.

Love me some Elijah Craig 18 yo small batch!

I usually buy at any military base Class 6, super cheap and no taxes! I have to have a couple of these just for the novelty of they came from 'my' barrel.
