That would have been a deal breaker for me. If you off road often in dusty desert type situations, sure the snorkel make sense. But no, not for me thank you.

Congrats on the truck. Not sure if the dealership was pulling your string on the desert air intake, but I ordered my 19 pro without a DAI. But Getting it for 18 msrp sounds like an awesome deal.

Pardon the French, here's the list of modifications to 2019s the dealer got from Toyota of Canada. Nothing you guys don't already know about.

All models get 2 USB ports as standard equipment and Boreal Blue is replaced by Cavalry Blue.

Pros get DAI, Black Chrome exhaust tip and red TRD lettering on the skid plate as standard, Cavalry Blue is repaced by Voodoo Blue. Note there is no mention of Moonroof.

I am not sure what the Limited get as standard, it roughly translate to "Added lock for assisted flap" or "Added assited lock for flap". Limited gets Cement Grey with Black interior.

I hope you have better luck with your TRD Sport than I did. I had it 3 weeks and it had so many problems I got the PRO today. My Sport was made in Mexico. Maybe that was the difference. The PRO has none of the problems. I hated the Sport for all of the problems.

Sucks they make you Canucks get stuck with that snorkel.
I never would of thought that you had so much desert terrain up there!

Yes it seems in Canada we don't get a choice wait till ice and snow fill it lol.
I really don't know why Toyota does this.
Don't they want to make customers happy
I'm not sure if it's an option in the us and if you get your allocation before it's build no reason they can leave it off.
Now for the ones that just show up at dealer so be it

All regions set-up their standard distribution options per their formula/s. If you do not want your vehicle/s their way...have them order one "your" way.

Luckily for us here it's an option.
I would look foolish driving around the mall with that sticking out.

In Canada not a single dealer that I have called said they can get or order one without a snokel.
Toyota Canada will not comment as they say it's not officially announced yet and not one their Canadian website yet

How much were you quoted if you don’t mind me asking?

I was quoted 55k CAD, including the floor mats, the bed LED and the TRD Air Intake, which would be 42k USD at the current exchange rate. He asked 2.5k CAD deposit to order.

Agreed, but staying the truth on the first half of your statement. Turd gens suck. The 3.5 sucks and ...... get you a second gen, wrap it in one of the fancy pro colors and spend 1/2 of the additional list price for a pro to make it better via aftermarket parts.

I agree on certain aspects. I love my second gen but I’m in the market for a new truck. I was going for a colorado but saw how small it was in person for a double cab which brought me to 3rd gen. Went wheeling in my friends one and it was a good experience for me. Plus once finding out that it comes with forged parts in the motor, it’s just a matter of time to get boost into the motor.

Care to elaborate? I keep reading TuRd GeN SuuCcKkksS but really, no one seems to come with any facts about it. On the contrary, most of the reviews praise it. If you buy a truck with a 3.5L V6 expecting power like a V8, you're a lost cause. I loved my 4.0L, but geez if I was getting 16 mpg on highway it was a good day.

Also, whoever pays 45k for a color is a dumbass. I chose the truck and the trim I wanted, then I chose the color I liked better amongst the choice I had.

If you prefer buying an older truck and modifying it to your preference, so be it, your money, not mine. I prefer buying a brand new truck with factory installed parts

I guess to each his own on what ever Gen.

as far as a 3rd gen, Crawl control is pretty awesome. I used to own a 4x4 Jeep Comanche with a 6" lift which was definitely fun to wheel with(single life), but im at the point where convenience and comfort come in to play. Wife would like to get into it too and this is a must feature for my scenario.

Engine, no surprise in loss of power there considering its displacement went from a 4.0 to a 3.5L. Even though its a smaller displacement, to me learning that it comes equipped with a Forged crank and forged rods, Im not afraid to boosting this motor. Theres a few places im banking on to do this and now its just a matter of time before they're released.

At first when the came out, i never really cared for the 3rd gen but it eventually grew on me. I know its a different 3rd gen Tacoma Model from what my friend has(Modded, Lift, etc.), but With what the 2019 TRDPro comes with from factory, im pretty content with what it offers and its capabilities. Only thing i'll probably change are performance mods since im a boost head.
