Damn, so bummed right now. What I have feared has happened. Cracked my shock towers. This is the passenger side. Driver side has a crack also but not bent out of shape. Any suggestion on where to get it fixed? I'm in the LA area.

Yeah, mine wasn't that bad though. Just welded it up.

Get some coil bucket gussets if you're going to send it. I had them on and still cracked it. A coil bucket cross brace would be better, but haven't got there yet.

I also added a plate on top that a buddy cut for me.

 

For anyone that installed this windshield reservoir this already, do I need anything special? going to tackle this tonight.

Did you get more of the star bolts or did they have hex replacements?

 

I bought a replacement star bolt just to not make it complicated. Those bolts in the hex size are readily available from a hardware store.

 

Mine haven't broken, thank god! I to have beefed mine up with some old steel 10mm top plate spacers I couldn't sell...

 

Lol... that's exacly why @foxrcing07 was asking if you remember the size.

I just need to remember to bring mine with for size comparison. I'm not using those dumb star bolts.

 

Home Depot has this cool board where you can test thread and pitch. Use it all the time.

 

Ya... but you actually have to have the bolt with you, and I keep forgetting to bring the bolt with me to work. Once I get home, I don't want to go back out to the hardware store lol

 

How far along are you with 4WD conversion parts?

Oof that coil bucket broke in a weird spot

 

RPM Garage in Monrovia, right off of Myrtle below Huntington. Look for all the well-built T4Rs and Landcruisers right outside lol. They may be able to help you out

Not sure how much fab work they do but they may be able to repair something like this, or fab up a better solution...definitely worth asking them because they know offroad Toyotas really well from what I can see based on their personal rigs and the ones they work on.

So now I'm going to by TC's shock tower & spindle gussets. Looking to have a shop have all this installed & repair my cracked shock towers. I have no idea where go to. Anyone else have any suggestion I'd greatly appreciate kt. I've already called DMZ fan & Yotamasters. They're backed up.

 

Buy a welder and do it yourself.

It'll save you a ton in the long run if you plan to continue beating on your truck.

My coil bucket cracked, front frame crossmember, core support, and probably some other things I'm forgetting or haven't found yet. Gotta pay to play.

 

I have a brand new cheap flux core welder. But I'm just a home shop machinist that doesn't know how to weld. I love my truck, I rather pay someone to do it right but not get raped at the same time.
