I hear ya, but it's the main fabber from DMZ besides Tim so he just wanted something quick to fit in there while he gets his suspension dialed in and then does a V8 swap. I got those bonzen ones. Good recommendation!

Thats always a good time. Although I have dabbled in precision AR's and thats fun too. Totaly different game than milsurps. Not so much "run what ya brung" more like "you can actually buy victory if you dump enough dough in your gun". Someday, when I get tired of shooting abscure calibers that have horrendous recoil, I'm gonna convert that mauser into a 6.5 creedmoor precision rig. Same bolt head, and the action will work fine. Just need a custom barrel and stock.

Why not some AutoZone stock ones to hold him over.

I'll ask him. If I lived closer I'd let him test fit the ones I have for sale or just sell them to him, but he asked about solid mounts so I figured I'd ask around :)

It's not worth the upgrade for him if he doing a motor swap. The solid mounts will eat up the transmission pretty quick. The TG ones fit. Might need to chop the fan shroud. Think the motor drops an inch.

Milsurp markings are some of the coolest story tellers ever. I can tell my Garand was used in Denmark based on the markings in the stock. I believe my Yugo mauser has a stock from a captured German K98.

Mine is marked "India" and has the wire around the stock like some that were used for launching grenades

Only "core" subject I cared about in school. That gun is prolly worth some serious money. Pass it on down the family line for eternity.

I'm not sure honestly. I'll have to look when I get home. Would it say Ishapore on it or is it just a symbol denoting that?

Not sure on Enfields. Thats the one type of milsurp outside of the Arisaka that I never got around to owning. Always wanted a No. 5 mk 1 Jungle Carbine, but they got stupid expensive real quick a few years ago. I could tell you all about Mosins, Maisers, and US stuff though.

My mosin conveniently has the date stamped right on top of the reciever, along with the Izhmash markings

Typically, the last few numbers of the SN will tell you all you need to know. Maybe try looking those up along with the markings on your Enfield.

I lurked on a big milsurp forum for awhile. You could try that too.
