Can I get TSBs on my '05?

You can't get any of them if you are out of warranty.

The suspension one replaces your 3 leaf pack with a 4 leaf one so you have more payload capacity.

You can just buy an add-a-leaf for under $100 and fix that problem yourself. Fat Bobs Garage and wheelers have nice, inexpensive options.

 

The suspension one does not increase your payload capacity. It provides proper spring response to carry the published capacity weights.

It is UNlikely you'll get the TSBs done on your 2005 truck...but you can ask...

 

i would try to call glacier toyota as they were more than happy to get me done. but try a couple of dealers

 

You can do any of those.

If you are thinking about/can afford new leaf packs- Do that. You can put an AAL in the leaf packs you have already, you can get them rearched...but a whole new pack will be the best bet, specially if you are trying to lift cause you can get lift leaf packs.

 

?? If the truck can't properly carry the published capacity before the TSB, and after the TSB it can, then it does increase the actual payload capacity, right?

 

It's semantics- but it does NOT increase capacity- it improves the ability to carry the published weight.
The truck will carry the weight as published with the 3 leaf springs-not comfortably...but it will.
Saying "increases the payload capacity" reads dangerously like "you can carry more stuff than published or more than before"

 

Pre-tsb, mine carried the published weight with the bump stops, the springs were in no way involved



Fair enough on my improper use of the term though.

 

I recently tried to get the suspension TSB done on mine. They checked the VIN and told me only the pads between the leafs would have been covered ($57 dollars) for the sqeaks. Basically they told me to go F- myself.
