    I didn't know how to weld either.

    An evening watching welding tips and tricks videos on youtube, and a hour practicing on scraps could teach you enough to glue some metal together. I would recommend a better welder, however, if you wanted to got that route.

    Have you tried posting in a local thread and seeing if another member could help you out? The coil bucket and spindle gussets take some time, but fixing that crack wouldn't be too complicated.

    I'm familiar with and Jody Welding Tips & Tricks. I do want to learn welding, just not going to learn on this job. Yep I posted in the local thread.

    Anyone hear of someone with a 3rz using Trail Gear bombproof motor mounts - my friend is thinking about buying some and he has an 02 4 banger. I know V6 trucks before 99 didn't have good sized engine block brackets to use with them - they were cast and ended up too tall with the bombproof mounts, but I'm not sure if that carries over to 4 bangers at all throughout the production run. Thanks :)

    I'm using the bomb proofs with my 3rz, I like em, all 3rz have brake bent engine mounts, no cast parts.

    Quick (1st gen edition) dual battery question.

    I'm wiring mine to a relay/solenoid. I'm looking to wire the turn on lead. I need "true ignition" meaning only on when truck is on. I'm trying not to have the lead tapped on an "accessory" meaning on when key is in accessory position.

    Any suggestions on what to tap in to? I'm hoping to tap somewhere in the engine compartment, but I'm having trouble figuring out a good option.

    @Blackdawg?

    Almost all of the power in the cab is ign only

    An easy one for your year will be the ashtray light. Useless anyways.

    Cool info! I need one for my DSP. I was going to tie onto the radio one but I wanted a separate line. The light will do. Or do you think the radio one is better?

    Perfect!
    It's true ignition... and my ashtray area is about to be hacked to pieces for a HAM radio anyway.

    Nah you'll want a separate one for sure.

    Test before you cut. Easy with a volt meter. It should be true ignition though. If not, steal the clock power

    I'll re-test for sure... but as far as I can tell, just looking, the light doesn't turn on in acc... it only turns on when I turn the key to ign.
