It's too bad these ECUs are so sensitive to failure. Ideally a failed download would just revert to the last known good image.

For the version of TS linked in this thread, it allows the CUW file to execute for updating the ECU, but you can't use TS to customize any settings. You need a later version.

Correct, older subarus, (I believe 16 bit ECUs) needed an additional harness to flash. Newer Subaru ECUs didn't, but needed you to connect a seperate jumper harness to write to the ECU. The 3rd Gen Tacoma's ECU does not need a special adapter to read and write to the ECU.

I would yield to @tonered on that one, or anyone else whose bought one. I'm still waiting to see if they release a TSB, I'm just experienced in Subaru ECU flashing

It will come with the Tactrix OBD2 adapter, USB cable and a sticker.

You'll need to download the following:

    Tactrix driver
    TechStream
    .cuw file for the TSB

It's not much harder than a BIOS update on a computer... It walks you through the process, pretty straight forward

Lots of other tips in previous posts as well

Where can I find the correct Tactrix driver needed to update my 18? is it on the Tactrix website and do you know the file name? I already have TS the .cuw file and the cable.

    Thanks
