Yeah, but you have an auto and a serious lead-foot, lol.

Manual tranny FTMFW. I know they have throw out bearing issues, but I might be able to convince someone to machine a steel pilot shaft to replace the shite aluminum one.

I'll hook you up with the bed Randy, but I can't guarantee it will be the right color.

Yeah, I'm thinking it's doable especially if I stick with these tall skinny tires and alloy rims.

I got 20mpg when my truck was brand new. If your father in law got 23 it wasnt with tall skinny tires. It was with bone stock tires.

Yeah, he hasn't done anything to his truck yet besides the d-ring mod.

Maybe swapping over the air box from my 4-banger would help. It's alot bigger than the one in y'alls trucks.

My intent is not to discourage you but I would be very very surprised if you could get 23 mpg on a built rig.

A combination of more space and the fact that there isn't THAT big of a difference in fuel economy between the 4 and the 6 if you do it right. Also, the available bolt on roots SC would be nice.

I don't think I'll get 23 either. I only hope to get 20 or better.

That still might be difficult to get with a lift, bigger tires and engine mods (intake, sc, etc.) I'm getting 15 with the headers and volant intake of course I have the Borla exhaust that came with the truck, not exactly stock but it is considered a TRD exhaust.

I was looking over your thread... just to see what sort of problems you have after the RCD...

I left the abs wire in the back unbolted...

Only problems I've had are the sqeeking from not putting enough grease on the LCAs, and torn boots on my tie rods from using a ball joint separator durring the install.

I think my LCAs are squeaking too... I have to take a better look at them in the morning... is there a way to grease them without taking them apart?

We didn't tear t boots on the tie rods, we used some sort of tool seperator that I forgot the name of that worked real well (which without we'd be up a creek for sure).

The biggest problem I see... is the alignment bolts barely fit into the cross-member...due to the side tabs being too close together. I'm worried the tech won't be able to align the front well enough tomorrow. Theres very little room for adjustment. But I'll see tomorrow

There's not really any way to grease them well without taking it apart. I sprayed lithium grease and WD40 on them which worked, but only for about a week.
