Al my son's close friends are a much higher pay grade than anything I have to offer. His friends all did pretty well for themselves. So did Jay.

The two most popular weather models have the storm headed our way by Sunday or Monday. It SHOULD be weakened considerable. The only time I can recall a hurricane really bashing Kentucky was Ike a few years ago. We had 18 hours of sustained 80mph+ winds. Firewood was plentiful and cheap for a couple years.

We just changed our vacation for the week after. I saw potential flooding in Bryson City and decided that was too much. Everyone stay safe and keep watching the news. Ain't no telling where this thing is going.

Well, I been trying to figure out how to get involved with FEMA loads hauling disaster relief provisions to the affected areas, but since our company runs tanks I haven’t had any luck figuring it out.

Around Katrina time, I still owned a business that transported farm equipment for several impliment dealers. I had 4 Dodge 1-tons set up to pull trailers. I got involved in pulling mobile homes into effected areas.

    Will never do THAT again....

Being a lazy government office, FEMA outsources a lot of that. Less work for them, more money to their buddies.
    • TRULOS Transportation – Free board that comes with video tutorials to help owner-operators just starting out in the industry. If you’re looking for FEMA loads, they seem to be offering them.
    • If you’re a trucker looking for FEMA loads to haul, online load boards are probably your best bet, since most of these hauls are offered through freight brokers. If you haven’t already endured the hassle of applying and getting approved to haul for FEMA directly, you’ll find FEMA freight opportunities on various boards, including DAT and Trulos.com.
