I'm planning on experimenting with Magnets. Sounds like you at least got a good deal on it. Not like you spent $800 for some paint damage.

My goal is to use it for sleeping when moto camping. Drop the softopper when hauling the bike then raising it when I need somewhere to sleep.

Nice, yeah we used to use mine to sleep/camp in before the RTT. It didn't work that great with 2 of us (me and my fiancé) but should be more than big/comfy enough for one person. Also because mine didn't seal/close well, it would let a lot of wind and dirt in at night which sucked big time lol. I definitely recommend some kind of mattress for the truck bed, either inflatable or some kind of pad.

I don’t really understand what you’re asking. But I’m getting the same symptoms before and after the change.

I need to do this. But I’ve also noticed I get some very light inconsistent knocking on the low end when in drive and parking brake on. So I’m thinking I’ve got something going on. Another problem is it’s making all my components wobble a bit. So it’s wearing everything out.

EDIT: it’s not really inconsistent. I think it is actually consistent but some “taps” are quieter than others....again I can only hear this when in drive, and the parking break is on. If I get up under the truck I can hear it much better through the oil pan. It does seem to go away with throttle but I’m not 100% sure.

I’ll clarify a bit. I bought what I thought was a OEM dampener to begin with. Turns out it’s a made in china clone with no real brand. Sent that trash back. A brand new one is $400-500.

So I bought that one from URD since it’s at least a quality part and Gadget told me his 4Runner does the same thing and it helped his run better. I’ve also seen a post somewhere else on another forum from years ago where he explained the same thing.

The original dampener was fine. No rubber missing, no dents or dings. Perfect shape. Something else is going on.

Can also be a symptom of a leaky head gasket. It will run rough until it burns off the coolant in the cylinder(s)

Looks much better than it being trimmed. But it really doesn’t matter. These dust shields are expensive.

Got one spindle all presses together.
Does anyone know if the rear bearing spacer is suppose to spin on the hub? It doesn’t seem right but it won’t press down any further..

If the other wasn’t put together I’d just check..

More than most sane people would spend. In my case it was t horrible. But I think normal price is near the 550-600 mark.

Must be nice to have that Toyota discount. Haha.

I think you're the only person I've seen that's bought brand new OEM Toyota doors.

It sounds like something is loose on the outside of the engine, like a loose AT coolant hose clamp. It's not constant (cyclic) enough to make me think it's something internal within the engine. AT or MT?

Automatic trans. It’s been doing this to some extent since I’ve had it ~15k miles. I ignored it because no other symptoms. But since the crank wobble it’s got me thinking it’s related...
