Got my replacement switchback DRL from Diode Dynamics. Mine had and issue with one led out and 2 brighter than the others. Great customer support getting a free replacement. They back their stuff. Will be a good winter project.

Seeing how crappy our lights are, thought about doing the TRS morimoto mled projector retrofit with baja squadron racer editions in the high beam spot.

Not sure how they will do distance wise or do so well heated up in the oven

I would try the squadron's in the oven on their own before putting in the light so you don't ruin the whole thing? Seen a few people putting similar lights in high beam spot.

I like it a lot. Dealership wanted to keep it on the old truck when I traded it in. I told them hell no. So easy to install and cleans up the front end quite a bit.

How much was the truck or the bumper guard?

Paid 33k for the truck new, got 3k difference on the 16 Sport I traded so 30k out the door.

The bumper guard was bought used from another Tacomaworld member.

My friend has a buddy that said he’d do my suspension lift for me so I told him that I wanted the notch at the lowest setting. I wanted the coils to do the lifting and not the shocks. He says:

“The coil is only going to change the ride height if you change the spring plate height. If you put it on the lowest setting you wont get any lift. By putting the spring plate on a higher notch position it causes the spring to push up the the shocks internal rod which in turn gives you the lift you are looking for. So depending on how many notches you have, we will either put it on the 3rd or of lift you are looking for”

Does he need to do all that?
I Ordered Bilstein 5100s with OME 887 coils

No. I'm not a professional, but in gathering info for the lift I'm planning I've learned that you dont need the shock spring plate to accomplish your lift. If you're going with something like OME 887 springs (which is what I'm planning on buying, in conjunction with bilstien 1500s) they are a longer coil than the stock coil, thus they will lift your truck at the lowest notch on the shocks. Personally, I only want my new shocks to be set at the lowest notch so that they retain the maximum and appropriate amount of travel. With 887 coils over bilstein 1500s you would gain approximately 2.5-2.75" from the extended coil length alone, with the coil perch at the lowest notch still.

Executed my very first recovery today with my truck. Even though my winch is bolted up I haven't hooked it up yet.
Used my 90% installed SOS Concepts Streamline Front Winch Bumper and my new recovery strap. Worked like a dream.

This is as far as I got on the bumper install Monday before the rain started.

    0912181924b.jpg

Couldn't finish my "deforestation project" with the garden tractor stuck in the muck.
    0912181923.jpg

Got it pulled to safety beforethe muck and the woods claimed it.
    0912181929.jpg

I'll tell you was touch and go there for a bit. I almost slipped once while walking. :D

Hopefully I'll get the bumper cover back on, the winch electrified, then pull off the wire line and spool up my orange Dyneema synthetic winch rope.
