Brand spanken new guy. Need to add the 1/2 inch shim from toytec to fix rear taco lean. It comes with a longer pin. My question is does the stock leaf springs pin come out or is it welded to the stock leaf springs.

Isn't the spacer usually added to the top of the strut to fix this? I've never heard of anyone shimming the rear.

I have Icon shocks on the front and cranked the driver side like 3\4 inch to fix lean. But rear still leans 1\2 inch. I just need to know if the pin in the stock leaf springs is removable.

Alright man. Wasn't trying to derail your thread. I would say if you got the fronts cranked by 3/4" and still have a lean, something else sounds amiss. Hopefully someone else will be along to help you out.

Its all good. You are just trying to help. The front is fine. I did order a spacer that I will put in to lower my coil back down so its not so stiff. But for now front is level. The rear is still down a 1/2 inch. I have Icon 2.0 shocks on the rear with the stock leaf springs. The truck only has 14000 miles on it. So leaf springs should be fine. I want to put a 1/2 inch shim under the leaf springs on the driver side axle to level out the rear end. I dont want to order the part and then find out I can't remove the leaf springs pin to add the new longer pin.

How are you measuring the lean?

Ground to fender measurements are not accurate. According to measuring my taco leans .5” yet when I use a level it is perfect bumper to bumper.

I didn't measure it, I can just see it when I look at the back of my truck. Its leaning at least 1/2 inch

Try measuring then stick a level on your tail gate. Do you want to spend all this time and money on an illusion?

I would never, EVER assume stock toyota springs at any age are fine lol. I have 30k on my truck and am on my second set of leafs, the new ones at 0 miles sagged. Good luck.

Good point. I will do that tomorrow. But I'm pretty sure its off. Maybe I can swap shocks on each side see if that helps.

The stock leaf spring is held together with a center pin bolt. It is not welded. Simply clamp the spring pack together on each side of axle tube, jack vehicle up so spring is unloaded and undo ubolts and undo centerpin. And spacer, new center pin and reinstall u bolts. Torque to factory specs.
