What are you using for a sleeping pad?

I was using some foam mattress pads.....
I’m currently looking into an double exped self inflating pad or something similar.

 

Make a platform.
Lay in it sideways.
Have a cold one.

I was thinking the same thing prior to purchasing my DCSB and being 6', but laid down in the bed of one at the dealership at an angle. Even laying on the floor with my head in the corner by the wheel well, I fit fine stretched out. I plan to add a carpeted platform to give me the room above the wheel well. Also, I don't usually sleep like a stiff, instead I am on my side with legs bent most of the time, so that will give me even more room.

Just received my Softopper on Monday, and just got off 4 x 12hr shifts this morning, so tomorrow I'll be working on installing that to get me one step closer to a stealth camper.

 

Even when I sleep on my side with my legs bent I'll still straigten out to roll over. Wouldn't take much to make a hinged section that folds out past the tailgate to give 6'+.

Q: what thought process goes into orientation (driver or passenger side) of sleeping bed? is there an advantage of either?

Yes, if I recall correctly.

 

It's some remote control battery sting LED lights off Amazon. I use some of the Harbor Freight work lights you get for free as well. A couple layers of yellow tinting film over them provides a great low light for middle of the night bathroom breaks.

I'm a hair under 6ft and did some research . I found a napier 82000 was exactly what I needed so far it's been great though I have yet to try it on rain

 

Same think it was like 12 bucks for 2 battery packs and 8,light strings it's also rgb
