Because I would like to keep the tire diameter close to original. Also, I want to go slightly narrower tread.

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
    No pics required.

If the dia is the same (or close) they'll look about the same from the side.

The width will be slightly noticeable to the keen observer when looking from front or rear. But nothing to the common man.

My bet is you won't get any pics offered anyway, because you're running against the common grain. Which can be a good think if you are serving a functional purpose.

Most folks who run 'skinnys' (255) use them in an 80 profile on OE wheels to get up to a full 33" with no rubbing/cutting/trimming on OE suspension.

this is true. 255/70 isn't so different than 265/65 regrading the contact patch. if you want that benefit, you can get much more and a bit of lift as well by going to 255/80 or similar depending16's or 17's. and no cutting or extra drama.

i also appreciate going a bit rogue with the setup. I'm on 265/65-17, stock size, but in load range E, which is also so uncommon I've literally never seen it around here even once except for me. but that's another story..

I believe the 265/70s is going to be closer to the orginials, plus your speedo should be dead on perfect. Narrower tire is going to turn some. Been there before. It does affect it some.
