    I said to me it was quieter! It's a step down package, and that was one of the reasons I went with the Sport. Sorry you disagree but it felt cheaper but just maybe it's because of the material they use. It is what it is.

    I just bought a 2018 SR5 DCLB back in June. It is my 4th Tacoma. I really like the trucks. I had every intention of buying a sport and wanted an upgrade over my gen 2 SR5. When I looked at the trucks I found they corrected many of the small things that bothered me about my gen 2. The SR5 now has a bed light, lit 4wd knob, fog light indicator, and alloy wheels. After looking and driving I decided the sport was not worth the extra money for me. The new truck is great and tows my boat just fine.

    I thought I would think the same thing. It is incredibly nice to not have to dig my key out of my pocket for a year. Over time it is well worth it imo

    I was under the impression that both of the TRDs had an upgraded rear diff along with the locker. I have an SR5 with the upgraded head unit and love it but had I known about the rear diff and true e-locker I would have ponied up the extra 2k. Not because I am going to mod but because I use my truck as a truck. Heavier running gear and a locker for the slick stuff would have been a nice upgrade.

    Only the Off-road has the rear locker. Sport gets the scoop. SR5 gets neither. That’s it in a nut shell ha

    The material inside isn't that much different, definitely not different enough to make an sr5 louder. It sounds like a confirmation bias for wanting to think the sr5 is just louder because it's cheaper. If you closed your eyes and rode in all the trim levels, they'd all sound the same except for atrd pro with the cai and maybe the off-road with more off-road styled tires.

    i have driven an SUV with BSM and found it very useful. there were true blind spots in the SUV.
    in the taco i have no blind spots once the mirror is adjusted properly.
    it would be extra insurance, sure, but if i have to look in the mirror to see the BSM then i can see the traffic too.
    I'd be glad i had it but i would not let it influence my decision...much more meaningful things to consider since visibility is good IMHO.

    I have the same situation as the OP and went with the SR5. Daily commute plus weekend hauling and towing so went with the ACLB over the DCSB. No kids at home so don't need a dual cab. Wife has an SUV so use it when we need to haul people.

    Nothing yet. Test drove a Sport in Cement. The first set of numbers from the dealer were not that bad but I just wasn't ready to pull the trigger. I'll probably test drive an Off Road to cover all the bases.

    I just got a TRD Sport. Test drove both, twice. The OR is “smoother” I will say that. However 80% of my driving is on the highway and I like having the stiffer suspension. So I went with the Sport. It’s has everything I think. Sometimes I wonder what the difference is between the limited and mine. Anyway, I have no regrets about not getting an OR. As far as going off road I’m sure the truck is capable of doing anything I could throw at it. While the stock tires are not the best for off roading I plan on replacing them with slightly more agressive ones later on. Also I have heard the Sport gets slightly better gas mileage compared to the OR. Can’t confirm or deny that but so far I’m getting 20mpg with 50/50 driving.

    If you ever plan to trade it or sell it the Sport holds its value much better, the stiffer rise is also much better for on road driving. 2k for the extra options is way worth the cost and resale Incase you’re forced into that situation again.

    AMP Powerstep, UC Flex, bed lights, Opt7 Tailgate bar, black tailgate lettering Pending: re-configure tail light,s custom storage pocket bags, pinch weld painting, blackout badges, ......
    I think the differences between Sport and Limited are mostly cosmetic and accessory. For 2017 some options, such as leather, included on the Limited were not available for the Sport. Other than options we are talking wheels, tires, hood, chrome, etc. Thought I will say IMHO the Limited has a little softer ride, which is part of the reason I bought a Limited. This may be perception.

    Just for giggles I priced out a Sport with the same options I have on my Limited and the price of the Sport was just a bit (about 150-200) higher. The sport then still has cosmetic differences as well as smaller wheels with more tire to be the same rolling circumference. Limited run Michelin and Sports are on Goodyear (Not sure) which may be part of the ride differences. Possible difference in struts and shocks, the brochure says the Sport has "TRD-Sport Tuned suspension".

    i read somewhere that the limited has the same shocks as the sr5. sport has stiffer shocks for a "sportier" ride.

    I got the SR5 and save money. Not worth it for a fake scoop (not into fake stuff), a couple of stickers, "better HU", phone charger and a computer to offroad...IMHO If you are seriously going offroad you have to probably upgrade the suspension anyways.

    The SR5 is perfect for commuting and the SR5 rims with KO2s look really cool.

    SR5 here. It's got everything on my list. V6 Auto DCSB 4x4 and Tow Package. Keyless entry, Bluetooth connectivity and a back up camera were also must haves.
    Everything else is nice to have. Digital dash, Pleather touches, alloys, etc.
    For me it was more between the SR and SR5. The SR was just a little too basic for me. SR5 was just right.

    Fake scoops are like fake titties, fun to look at and fun to play with. Got me a sport dclb and never looked back. I was going to get a SR5 but the little things sold me on the sport.
