It blows, and seems to blow a lot....From the drivers side far left vent, having the A/C or heater on and the fan set to full it blows a sizable quantity of air with the vents set to floor only. Is this common?

Did some quick searches and couldn't find any other threads related to the 3rd gen and this.

I have a '18 TRD Offroad, 6k miles, "premium" package with dual zone climate control.

Air seems to blow or leak from that vent even with the AC system off/fans off as well.

Air will always come out of the vents if the AC is off. You're driving and air is coming into the engine bay...our trucks aren't air tight.

Obviously. the air leaking when the system is off is one thing i can care less about just more then expected in comparison to all other vehicles i have owned. dont know what is normal for this truck.

the real issue of the vent blowing pretty well when set to floor only when the system is turned on is another thing.

Which is why they gave you the ability to physically close the vent...

This explains the mixing for various settings. With the setting on floor, you will still get some out of the vents.

Still, you might have an issue with yours?

My vents blow if set to floor, just not very much. I simply close the vents and that solves the problem quite well.

    Oh really i didn't know this! o_O

i can care less about the leak when system is off as i said.

When set to floor only and system on, and the vent closed, its blowing hard enough out of the left vent where you can still feel it.

Interesting diagram, looks accurate but with mine the scale of blow would qualify as the medium circle for the left vent when set to floor. the passenger side vent i will confirm still gets that tiny circle bit of air in that mode.

That is what i am wondering and trying to judge, will likely be a pain in the ass to get them to fix if there is an issue, they would probably have to disassemble half the dash to repair it. Living with it would just be an annoyance but paying so much for a truck and having something just not right already rustles my obsessive compulsive jimmies.

Damn, it won't blow out the left vent if you close the louvers...

There's enough air pressure to blow out the tiny slit in louvers to still be felt friend.

Interestingly enough, my fresh air vent squeaks when it's changing from open to closed. Maybe yours is hung up, or another door is. Supposedly the dealer "cleaned and lubed" my fresh air door but I don't think k they did. They never replaced the squeaking leaf silencers even though they said they did.

Upload a video holding a tissue in front of the closed louver with air diverted to the floor, this I gotta see.

I was talking with my service advisor about the dual zone systems and he was telling me that they come in all the time with damper issues. It sounds like yours is one of them. He did say that proportionately they show up more in the high end SUVs, because they sell more of them than trucks.

Setting it to recycle helps close them - I always do that when approaching a stink pot of a old car trailing smoke, behind a diesel and if following someone on a dirt road or approaching a dust cloud.
