I have the pens. Even though I have the mud flaps the part on the box before the rear tires (flare) is all chip to hell. I just want sand down and paint it. It even chipped through the clear rubber plastic protector.

No problem. It's worth it to have the right color matching imo.

Check duplicolor "Perfect Match". You can get it from any automotive store (PepBoys, autozone etc.). I used it to paint my Grille and and it's pretty close to perfect...

I did...I was told by autzone rep and a place call Auto Paint World that Duplicolor didnt make this color. Auto Paint would have to special mix.

That's not true, because i have personally purchased it and and painted my grille with it (pic below for proof :) )...I think the paint code is 8P4...I still have a can at home, i'll confirm that is the right paint code when i get home tonight.

Hes right, they do make it. Its not called indigo ink on the can, its dark blue on the can, but the paint code is still the same. Pep Boys has it. Just match the paint code, you will be fine.

Did you paint over the chrome? How did it turn out (up close). If so, how did you go about it? Just a mild sanding, then multiple coats?

My grille was originally chrome. I sanded it down to rough it up, then wet sanded lightly to make sure there where not sanding grooves.
Hit it with 2 coats of rattle can primer, then with the dupli-color paint (as stated above, it is not called Indigo Ink, but the code is 8P4 and it is the right color). I did enough coast till it was completely and evenly covered, then used a rattle can clear coat.

You will get different opinions on how to lay the clear coat, but i lay it on thick (but be careful or it will run). The clear coat is what will make it shine like the rest of the truck, so laying it on thick gives the best results, IMHO.
I did a couple thick coats, then let it dry real good before putting it back on.

The paint matches just about perfect, and I would definitely recommend it!

I'll make a note to snap a pick of the can when i get home from work today, and post it up.

Sorry for the delay. Here is a pic of the paint can and the clear coat can i used.
The paint name and code is: Dark Blue Pearl (8P4) - There is a sticker on the cap that has the name and code on it. I tried to snap a pic of it, but didn't realize it was too blurry to read until i went to upload it...
