This is the biggest derailing I've seen on many sites. I'm glad ya'll made up.

My windshield does the same, but in my CJ7 it was opposite. It couldn't defrost the windshield in the winter for anything. I had poker cards stuck down the defrost vents trying to redirect the faint warm breath coming from the defrost to be able to see. It was a big part of why I sold the CJ7.

This drives me absolutely nuts, I do not think its normal, but a design flaw. There is no reason the window should fog in that one spot, air should not be flowing out on the window unless the vent selector is set to window or window/feet. I have this same issue on my truck and I say its a design flaw because this does not happen on my 2016 4Runner. This happens on my truck when its extra humid out, or has been raining and im running the AC.

I am extremely surprised to see this is a common issue among Tacoma owners, I thought it could have been caused by two things, my dash was taken apart for some unknown reason before I purchased the truck, and I figured they didn't get the ducting back together tightly or did not it sealed correctly, or the switching mechanism had something stuck or was jacked up causing it to allow airflow to consistently blow air on the window. Now it looks like a design flaw in the AC/Heat ducting in the truck.

Other vehicles do that. Most cases it’s to keep from fogging on the inside. Just happens to be an issue during humid days especially in the morning.

Yup...I don't think it should happen either but mine also does it.
I drive a 1500 Silverado, F-150, 2500 GMC and a Ram 5500 for work and not one them, not one do this.

I don't buy it, my 2016 4Runner does not do this at all, my 2001 Tacoma never did this, and my 2006 4Runner never did this. There is no reason that air needs to be blowing on the window unless you want it to. I shouldn't have to turn my heat up in the middle of the summer to keep my window from defogging, or roll down my window, or place a Tshirt on my dash to keep my window from fogging over. This is a Toyota not a Dodge. (and it sounds like dodge figured this out from the above post LOL)

Every modern vehicle I have owned with A/C does this, it's simply warm moist air hitting a cold surface and condensing. Chevy, honda, Yota, they all have to follow the laws of nature.

I don't dispute the laws of nature, the point is cold air should not be blowing on the window making the window cold unless you want cold air blowing on the window. If you notice in the OP pictures it only happens right where the window defogging vent is located. It starts in that exact spot and slowly chills a large portion of the window, causing that area to fog over. If cold AC air was not blowing directly on the inside of the window, it would maintain a closer temp with the outside and would not fog up.
This is why NONE of the other windows fog over unless you point a vent at them chilling them.

Try this some time, when its raining or humid out take your driver side vent and point it at the window with the AC on till it fogs over, then turn the vent away from it and the fog will go away once the window temp comes back down and maintains a closer temp to the outside air temp.

My modern 2016 4Runner does not do this, and none of the modern vehicles I've owned with AC never did this. It only blows any air on the window when I tell it to via the vent selection knob.

I am still on $10-per-hour "trainee" salary at Fred Beans, but I am now allowed to not only detail vehicles myself, but go out to the lot and drive them into the shop by myself.

On of my very first vehicles that I was allowed to do entirely by myself was a brand new base model Chevrolet Malibu, on Wednesday. The car was a blackish gray metallic color with an austere black cloth interior. Basically, the car was BORING!

I do not know if it was a 2018 or 2019 model, but it was fairly well-equipped for a so-called base model. It had automatic (bring back manuals, dammit!), A/C (what new vehicle doesn't these days?), power windows, power locks with remote keyless entry, tilt/telescoping steering column, and an AM/FM radio with the basic version of MyLink or whatever the the hell it's called. The radio featured USB ports, an AUX input, a backup camera, Bluetooth hands free, and satellite radio, but no CD player! The car also had OnStar and a plethora of safety features including 4-wheel disc brakes (which surprised me), a seemingly infinite number of airbags, ABS (even the "Cozy Coupe"-sized Spark has ABS now!), and traction control. I do not know if this particular car had cruise control...

I say the car is boring, but boring does not mean bad. The 1997-2004 "rental special" Malibus were both boring, and mediocre at best. This car was austere, but I was impressed with the overall quality. The interior was well put together, and like I said it had an impressive amount of standard features for your stereotypical "A to B" car...

However, if I ever ended up with a base Malibu, it would get new rims and a significant stereo system upgrade!

Almost forget to mention the rims; The car I detailed had genuine alloy wheels, not black steel wheels with the plastic aluminum-look "simulators". They were only 16 or 17 inches, but they looked nice!

Fred Beans has a Toyota dealer but it is a good 40 minutes from me in New Jersey. My discount would apply there, but I don't feel like driving out there.

Honestly, I don't even know how long I'm going to last at this job because the way they pay me is bullshit.

I can't believe that nobody here knows this.... it comes out a bit on the windshield when you have the vents set to FEET.

Actually, no. It does that in order to keep your windshield de*frost*ed in the winter. Normally you only need the full on defogging modes when you are still warming up or it is excessively cold or freezing rain or something, and having it on feet is the only way to keep a bit of heat hitting the windshield without it automatically cycling the air conditioner. This mode of operation predates air conditioners being available (or at least common) on cars, and every car I've ever driven (except for one soviet car...) implemented this.
