Check it out now! The flag is shredded, wasn't a few hours ago when I last looked at it.

Saw that about 20 mins ago. That wind is nuts. Idk if anyone else is keeping up with this but this thing is still about 12-24 hours from “landfall” and OBX is already flooded and parts of the coast are flooding

I have been working the past two days in the hospital and haven't seen a thing regarding weather, just looked through this thread and got the update, this storm is legit! Hope everyone down there is safe.

Also took the plunge into road biking and got a Scott Addict 15 from the shop I worked at previously.

So it seems a new mailman has started on my street. I think Mr Magoo could do better at getting the addresses straight. He's constantly getting house numbers wrong, and even gets the street wrong sometimes! I'm about ready to file a complaint.

I like big snow storms, until I realize that it's just a bunch of extra work for me. Then it melts before I get to really enjoy it..only to have it happen all over again! Oh well, it looks pretty while I am out there moving it around.

I look forward to the first snow storm, just to play in it. Then I'm ready for summer.

Anyone following the crisis up in North Andover / Lawrence / etc area? Looks like the gas company overpressurized the lines and it blew past the check valves inside houses and there are a ton of houses on fire. My buddy in N. Andover just got evacuated.

That's an understatement. Last I heard over 50 hotspots/fires/explosions in the area.

    Houses are literally just exploding...

I’ve never had a house with gas and the overpressure makes total sense but check valves prevent backflow.

How are the check valves oriented in homes? I would think if the check valve failed it should have blocked the line, not failed full open. Even then a check valve isn’t a positive shutdown regardless.

I’d buy an excess flow valve failing but not a check.

It's crazy, my wife takes the commuter rail to Boston and I had to pick her up in Wilmington because they stopped service to Lawrence. Traffic sucked and it was weird to drive through 125 in North Andover when nobody had power.
