I'd just put a smaller turbo on for that. Mine spools up too slow and late. I don't need boost really until 3rd gear.

How much weight we talking? When I put my bed rack and RTT on, it barely sagged but as soon as I put another 100lbs in the bed it started to sag pretty bad. Add camping gear to that and I was riding on my bump stops much of the time when I did my Mojave trip with that setup.

They rode great though, I ran those 3 leaf AALs for about a year and a half and had no complaints. I think the Dakars rode even better but for a truck that is just looking for some lift and not needing to haul around a lot of weight, the 3 leaf AALs are a good solution.

@eon_blue when you added the AAL to the pack, did you grease the AAL at all? I touched base with wheeler's and response I received was not needed. Also, did you use any specific torque spec for the center pin?

    thx

I just did the center pin 'gudentight'...didn't overly muscle it but I made sure it was snug. There's probably a torque value out there for that though. I bought some greaseless lubricant that I sprayed between the leaves when I had them apart, seemed to work for awhile. I know there is a write-up somewhere on TW for putting a thin layer of rubber sheet between the leaves that's supposed to eliminate squeaking for good.

It's just the never-ending battle with leaf springs. When I loaded up for my eastern Sierra's trip a couple weeks ago, even my All Pro Expo's sagged about an inch. Just the way of the world lol

Jesus fuck...had some idiot homeless 20 something year old walk off the sidewalk and right in front of my truck on my way home from work, was going ~ 40mph and slammed my brakes but had to swerve to miss him, got lucky no-one was next to me. Literally jumped off the fucking sidewalk and right into the middle of my lane with me coming right at him. Fucker would have smashed my radiator probably.

Meth is a hell of a drug

I usually am not one to swerve into another lane to avoid something and risk hitting another car, but CA laws being what they are if I had hit that kid he or his family probably would have successfully sued me.
