I mean if i go up it will be on pave roads and to a rented house. I wouldn’t go wheeling

But ok, how does one know what chains to get. Should probably tell my dad to because his truck is also 2wd

They sell them by the size, but you might have problems with them tearing shit up if they’re toooo big.

Up there the roads get covered in snow/ice no matter whether they are paved or not, you'll need chains if it's bad enough...and in the middle of winter up there it usually gets that bad.

Just go to the auto parts store and give them your tire size and they'll give you the chains you need

I found a pair of semi truck chains and had a shop cut them down to size. Which reminds me, I need to make them longer before winter now that I'm on 33's

And just because you have chains doesn’t mean your safe.
Specially when you’ve never driven in it haha.

Totally. Up in Big Bear a couple winters ago they had the biggest snow storm they'd seen in 10 years and we were there snowboarding for the day. At night, there was so much snow everywhere you couldn't see any of the roads and there were cars, trucks, Jeeps, you name it...stuck everywhere. Even ones with 4x4 and well built. Cars all over the road trying to get unstuck or trying to flag others down to help, it was like the snowpacoplyse lol. I still don't know how I got down that mountain that night without getting stuck, but definitely needed to be 4WD the entire time without a doubt.
