engine knocking

last night when i parked my taco i the engine started knocking a little, i checked the oil and it was fine, then when i started it this morning the knocking was gone i have three hundred miles over 100k and was wondering if anyone had a similar probably with there 2rz?

Was the engine real hot when it was knocking? Had you been running it real hard? Could have been a preignition knock brought on by an over heated engine.
Has the knocking reoccurred?

 

it wasnt hot, i had just driven home from my girlfriends house and its all resdiential areas so i wasnt being hard on it, adn it hasnt done it since.

 

Maybe it doesnt like you cause you only have 1 nut?

Did it sound like it wanted to stay running for a a split second, or was it just straight knocking.

 

it was just straight up knocking, it was running fine, and it hasnt done it since that night.

 

Id stop worrying about your truck and worry about your 1 nut alex. Seems like a bigger issue to me!

 

Hmmm thats weird. Only thing i can think of is lack of oil. I'd just say dont worry about it for now, keep your ear open and see if you notice anything really weird, other then that not much you can do.

ehh a i couldnt tell he was pissed all the way back to prescott until we passed cortis junction, but the bumper isnt to bad its just a little dent with a scrape in it, and probably after i get off work at five or so. unless i can get off early haha oh and i was late this morning hahaha
