Just spent a few hours with Graeme in my culdesac! He was here until 11pm, and really took the time to go over the camper with me. They take a lot of pride in making a fantastic product, and it shows. I truly enjoyed meeting him, he’s not only stoked about their product and sales, but his customers and employees.

One of my fellow volunteer firefighters was there to help, and he knows a lot more about construction and fabrication than I ever will (he’s a retired Seabee), and you should have seen him gushing over this camper! I knew it was well made, but didn’t grasp the minute details until I saw it in person. From the LineXed large floor panel, to the tent, all the way down to the smallest bolts, it’s all been thought out to a degree rarely seen in any consumer products these days.

The large floor panel is LineXed. It’s much lighter than I would have guessed, and feels really solid. I can post pictures, but they’ll probably have to wait until Saturday or Sunday.

I believe that’s the same piece, but mine’s black LineX. He said they just started doing it with this batch. It’s the large removable floor panel

Maybe not. The line-ex panel sounds nice, I almost busted my ass jumping up on the panel when the cushion moved.

Agreed. The only regret I have is that I haven’t been able to use mine as much as I wanted. There’s been a few tweaks since mine was built but they seem pretty minor and fairly easy to duplicate on my own.

I believe they have launched a RTT a few weeks, possibly a month ago now, but it's in the 3K plus range. No real way to build that for $1500, that's what a "decent" fabric made in Asia tent costs, no way with the aluminum and powder coating they could do it for $1500. Really it's about half price from a full GFC (seems fair since you're getting about half the product).

Am I missing something? Mine was in the same delivery (though built a month or so earlier) so it does NOT have a Line-X'ed panel. What is the perceived advantage of that? I wonder was there complaints beforehand? Mine seems very stout but I can't picture why it should be coated? of course having it done wouldn't be a big deal, I'm just curious why they made the switch?

BTW I'm glad Graeme got down the East Coast to FL and is headed AWAY from Hurricane FLO. @Jestersrobe I saw your install (kinda) on IG. Looking good! How was Graeme's new Raptor????

Graeme’s Raptor was looking pretty sweet. I love my Tacoma, but looking around in his Raptor did stir up some unexpected jealousy!

Here’s a pic of the LineX panel:

As far as social media, I only ever had an FB account and I deleted that a while back. Email, texts, and message boards are good enough for me.

    Fixed.

As for the line-x panel, we switched for a couple of reasons:
    • It eliminates a good bit of fabrication time since we don't have to miter and knock on an entire aluminum frame.
    • It makes the panel a tiny bit lighter (line-x itself is actually quite heavy but the overall result is lighter)
    • We liked the look better
    • And it eliminated some sharpish corners
It's just a minor refinement and not a response to a major issue. We've noted no difference in the quality of sleep between the two versions :)

    It's DLX son!
Is it only the 25"x50" panel that is getting the treatment or is the fixed panel also going to match?

My preference would be that the fixed and large panels were the same color when viewed from underneath, but then if the fixed panel gets lineX'd you loose the option to shoot the lighting up into it.

If you make it out our way again we probably have some scrap we could cut a 2' x 2' out of. The panels we use are a custom spec so you have to order quite a bit at a time.

Only the moveable rectangular panel. The fixed panel gets glued into the tent frame and the glue won't stick to the line-x.
