Outter bands are about 30 miles from me, it will probably start raining in 1-2 hours. This thing is moving so, freaking, slow. Wind is just starting to get a little breezy. Screenshot_2018-09-14-04-33-39.jpg

I saw something about that earlier, that it was moving abnormally slow. So nothing major should hit you?

Just a metric crap ton of rain and 40ish mph wind starting tomorrow. But were on the right side of the storm, which means we will have the highest chance of tornadoes. If this was as fast as most hurricanes, this wouldve been nothing as a cat 1, but its just so damn slow. I cant imagine what people on the coast are doing. Nothing in this world can prep you for water up to your ceiling. Greensboro is acting as a hub for power company trucks. Theres gotta be hundreds of them sitting down at the colosseum waiting for dispatch. All we can do is take whats coming

Fuck tornados, don't get any of that stuff at all on my side of the country. I can't imagine a storm that floods the whole first floor of buildings, that's insane. Well hopefully it doesn't affect you much, prayers for the people getting the worst of it. Would be a shitty time to work for a power company too

Yeah, some of our local fire trucks went to Texas last year to help with Harvey and Florida with Irma. One of my old coworkers kid was a lineman sent down to Miami. They would start each day at 4 am. Finish at midnight the next day, then rinse and repeat everyday for 3 months. $40 bucks an hour made it worth it.

Man that's a rough life, respect to those guys. They'd make a pile of money but that's tough

All that matters really is doing something that you enjoy. Id take the money and put it towards that. Mechanic school and a degree in business wouldnt hurt. But all in all its about what makes you happy.
