Drop brackets are shitty, yes. You gain lift, but have this big honking bracket hanging down in the front just ready to hit on stuff offroad. The lift he has now will be way more capable than a drop bracket lift.

Yea, I'm pretty sure I made the right choice. It's (the entire kit) a bit overkill for how I'll use it at first but it should last me a long time. Plus it didn't break the bank.

heres my consensus from running resi to 886ome and back to resi setup. Having 3" of lift is nice for clearance on big rocks but other than that it rides pretty shit with that much preload and heavy spring rated. I ran something around 3.25 to 3.5" of lift with the ome setup and it was fine, just a little high for center of gravity and made the truck sway alot when loaded. I ran with preload and no preload now and the truck feels more planted and doesnt feel like it wants to lean/topple when loaded. Preload kills the effect of having any nice resi setup, shit just rides horrible. Granted im not running a sway bar but height isnt everything for the trucks. If you have the clearance to run lower without rubbing, i think that is the best.

truck at 3.25-.5" lift, ome 90000 w/ 886 ---rides alright
    [IMG]

Truck with 3-4" of lift, with 1" of preload -- rides like shit
    [IMG]

truck just under 3" of lift, no preload --rides better than stock
    [IMG]

truck looks better with taller stance, rides like shit tho

Yea, of course at first being the lunatic I am I wanted 12" of lift on 35s. Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!

Naturally ya'll convinced me that logic was not logical for me.

As I worked through my demons I finally came to realize that a better, and by better I mean something that can withstand my inadequacies and skill, system for a little more money might be a better choice in the long run. I'll still have approximately 2.5" - 2.75" of lift (even though the wife said in the beginning that if we're going to invest money then it better be obvious. Yeah, she's a gear head enthusiast too). And while that's not a considerable amount in terms of inches, it will be a considerable amount in terms of performance and durability.

I may not even be able to break it. :D

Morning! I posted this in the local thread but forgot to post it in here. Got a BS parking ticket that I'm going to take to court.

The code in it's entirety reads like this, so it's not applicable to what I was doing. It's meant for an overpass or something of the likes.

Looks like an elevated surface to me! You're a Gangsta for sure. If you were a rapper I'd have to call you Thirty Seven Cent.
