My wife just showed me a video of live traffic down there, that's got to suck the big one. Hope all works out.

Ya it's insane. So lucky that I do not have gas. My buddies family was evacuated but their neighborhood has been ok.

Edit: they cut power in a few areas too and people were starting up generators lol.

    Lots of sail boat fuel
They slug valves. Gas goes around them. When pressure builds up they slam the hole shut.

Columbia gas has some of the highest standards in the industry. They must have seen some extremely high pressure. I wonder if there was defective parts maybe. They have records of everything and once they catch wind of anything can get on it asap.

I know, I know, but I needed a half ton.
Part of the problem was when they shut the gas off the pressure dropped so the pilot lights in peoples houses went out... letting gas seep in that way too.

A friend of my was hypothesizing that they got oxygen in the line from a pressure booster at a customers site malfunctioning and feeding back into the line...

    Morning all.
Hope you're all ready for gas prices to take a sharp hike; the companies are going to have to pay for all of the law suits they're about to be served with.

I have a huge job in Lawrence that is obviously shut down. About 30 guys sitting home today. What a nightmare that situation is.

We were already screwed with all our fuel prices because of the hurricane. It's going to make the prices skyrocket everywhere.

I can't believe what happened in Lawrence, etc. last night. I'm not really near it at all, but the thought of homes just exploding is almost unfathomable.

I don't know; it happens semi-regularly wherever natural gas lines are common. Seems like I see 1-2 a year on the news, just here in Maine, and only the larger cites are plumbed for Nat Gas around here. Whole neighborhoods, on the other hand...definitely out of the ordinary.

I'm assuming this is much less of a problem with people that are on propane tanks?

Typically, but obviously the possibility is still there. But since it's not set up in a grid, any problems would be isolated; you don't have to worry about whole neighborhoods suddenly becoming explode-y from it.

Ordered whiteline lca bushings and Moog lbjs last night. Going to finally try to attempt to rebuild my spare set of lcas. Should be a good time.

Weirdly whiteline no longer the bushings for an FJ, just the gx470 which uses the exact same lca assembly from Toyotao_O

I suspect cause in 2010 the lcas changed slightly and are a little larger so the whitelines don't fit 2010+.
