    I mean the real solution is a nice roof or rack one. But same goes for CB. A lot of bad information on antenas and ground planes

    Firestick.com actually has a ton of articles, and some of them are quite good, about all that stuff. Believe me, I went though all this a month ago when I transitioned from my mag mount CB antenna to the Firestick on the front of my ARB. Had a ton of issues getting that shit dialed in so ended up reading about all that.

    PS midland makes a super kick ass gmrs mobile radio now with 40-50 watts. Huge power. Plus if you have kids or family , that ticket covers everyone legally and is really just the 70cm ham band which works great in the trees
