I ran those 285's Cooper St Maxx in E, they felt not different than the C rated Toyos I run now as far as stiffness. The biggest difference was weight and the Coopers would kill me if I let go of the wheel (pulled hard right) and they wouldn't balance so my steering wheel would constantly shake. Chalk testing to get the right pressure helps as well, no need to run at high psi.

Also public service announcement... if you didn’t know even if you don’t get your tires from discount they will insure them. Just walk in and have them look over them and they will quote you a price. Insured my BFGs I bought off of @BadgerBoy for $78

Will they let you return/swap the E for a C at the same price if you decide the E is too firm? I’ve heard of some places doing such and I could see DT allowing the same.

I’ve had nothing but good experiences with DT from my most recent tire purchase. I’ll be hard pressed not to do business with them in the future.

285 70 17, rides good so far less than 10miles. Looks like I will barely touch cab mount flexed but @marinemonkey will be fixing that Saturday. Cant really tell much difference other than a lot smoother than my wore out 265 70s were.

@17tacostormtrooper Any word on a Mod Day? Got my springs, AAL and CMC plates in hand. Going to wait till SOS has another sale and probably order a rear swingout bumper, after that it will just be lights, air compressor, and some odds and ends. We also need to plan a fall camping trip...

Anyone interested in these XD Hoss’s 16x8? I acquired them from a friend but I’ve already got wheels. I’ll sell them for $550 or best offer. They do need centercaps but I found a set for $58. And I have a brand new set of lugs he gave me too.

    BEST OFFER!

Thinking about heading to above Rome or blue ridge area and doing some of the Ga. traverse trails. Anyone been up through there and may know how bad they are? Anyone else interested?
