Firestone was the only manufacturer having issues at those pressures. It was found on that one size tire they were leaving out a specific bonding agent that all of their other higher end tires were running. The Explorer was a heavy vehicle so once under the rated pressure on the door you were at risk for failure. Lower tire pressures increase grip and the chance for a roll-over, not sure where you heard that tidbit. In extreme cases, low pressure can cause the car to become loose again but those tires were failing at pressures in the mid 20s.

We were pulling them off of Tacomas also. The 4runner I don't think ever had that size in a Firestone. Was like a 225/75r15 so only base models had the chance of having them. Being the age before the dealers/manufacturers went full computer for data I'm having issues finding the documentation. It was a recall issued by Firestone through Toyota.

Why do so many people still choose to try and ride these storms out even under mandatory evacuations? I understand there's some that have no choice but c'mon, the mass of people within large cities that decide to stay to me is idiotic.

Even the phrase "no choice"...I kind of have an issue with that. If someone thinks they can't afford to get out, it's because they are unaware that there are still resources in situations such as this where you can make a phone call to authorities and let them know you wish to get the hell out of the path of the storm.

Now, those dumbasses who say they are staying because "they made it through Hurricane pickaname and I can make it through anything. I live 3 blocks from the beach, but I am not going anywhere." Sorry to your family when they find out you died because you were more concerned about your stuff and not your life. One I saw, he was concerned about the amount of time that it would take after the storm to get back to his stuff... WHAT? You are worried about looters going through your flooded, decimated & destroyed shit? C'mon!!

    Stuff. Also things.
I’m just glad I live in the West.

Everything might just burn to the ground every year, but we usually don’t have to worry about hurricanes, tornadoes, and earthquakes much.

I’ve never had to deal with earthquakes or tornados, but hurricanes and fire you can at least see comming and try to get out of the way. One thing with hurricanes is all the rainfall. Flooding can be devisrating

"No choice" was used lightly. There's always some type of help to evacuate, especially being mandatory. You don't see people trying to ride out a forest fire, hurricanes should be no different, they're just as destructive and dangerous. Just doesn't make sense, oh well.

You totally see people disregarding fire evacuations, sometimes just right up the last minute and sometimes period (and some of them die for it). It's just not as many people since fires are smaller than hurricanes.
