I have the same thoughts. We shut down Wednesday... It's been totally fine up until now. We're getting some wind. The volunteer FD is even on storm watch already... sorry, I'm not sitting at the station for some mild wind. Maybe once it gets serious I'll go.
During Matthew we sat there and didn't have one single call.

Late start today here all. Just a nice cool breeze here in the Creek so far. Nothing new or crazy to report from here yet. Everyone else stay safe and be careful!

Besides dead branches being blown out of the trees, the only damage I’ve got so far is to my wallet with online shopping.

All jokes aside from us that aren't getting directly hit yet or at all there is some major flooding already on our coast. I've gotten some reports of people already in their 2nd story and houses being completely flooded out. But yeah the hype of what this storm was going to do compared to what it's doing is a little off to say the least

North Carolina is getting hammered and evacs were the right call for the Tar Heel state.

But McMaster screwed the pooch big time on this. I work from home so I get paid either way.
But a lot of folks who get paid hourly will probably miss a weeks work of money. Nothing but
sunshine here in the SC Lowcountry so far.

Agreed. At 7am this morning, NC had over 100 trapped calls. People are in their attics or on their roofs. New Bern is flooding from storm surge. I'm hoping the best for them.
