I actually ran into this in NC once. I got drunk, dropped my keys on the ground and climbed into the car and went to sleep. Cops came knocking few hours later, and by the grace of God and my drunkeness I wasn't given a DUI because I didn't have possession of my keys on my person especially considering I was in the drivers seat.

Cop even went as far as saying "you are one lucky SOB, I was ready to get you until I saw your keys out here" Called a taxi for me and sent me on my way.

haha i just have a softopper thinking of keeping it that way because its much more simple to climb in and sleep when im drunk.

Makes sense. After I posted I had a though it was for refilling tires after going off-road. Thanks.

I once pulled over a drunk like 30 seconds before a bank robbery went out over the radio. The bank was right down the road from us so I asked him if he wanted to go to jail or throw his keys into the woods. He got out of the truck, locked the doors and threw them. I figured by the time he found them he would be sober and I went to the other call.

Man I would have tossed my keys into the next county.

DUI is no joke....In the age of Uber I will gladly pay 60 bucks to get my ass home versus tens of thousands of dollars, and ending my career.

I have a baby cousin who lives in the area, 4 days after turning 21....busted for a DUI. I warned her before her Bday to not be stupid.....and she is experiencing the ramifications of her actions

Yep - they charge a crazy amount. Until then Uber / Lfyt / taxi. one good thing about Nova....never a problem to get a ride home so no excuses.

We had something like that when I was stationed in Okinawa. It was called Daiko; basically two people would pick you up and one of those people would drive your car back. Used it once or twice...

Its definitely a good feeling to see your vehicle in your driveway the next morning after howling at the moon all night and knowing you didnt drive it.

oh yes there is always a good way to get home around here anytime of the day.
