I like the smooth white finish but a non-slip surface would be nice at times. I'll keep it in mind for a potential easy mod if cushion sliding becomes an issue.

Yeah I was thinking that too.

Wonder if I can somehow remove the lineX from just the bottom or how well some vinyl material would stick.

It could negate any labor savings - but masking the middle of the panels and only spraying the edges where the aluminum trim used to be would preserve the original look.

Really the “dog vent mod” is so simply and effective it’s silly. Graeme said it was coming... the GFC Website says they’re going to make a how to video showing it.

Oh boy.... mines likely the very last GFC to leave the factory without Line-X. I feel like in a few years the value of it will be like a low mileage first gen Tacoma in SoCal.... any bidders??? Hahaha

I know. I had visions of acetone, flap disks, orbital sanders and angle iron clamped around the perimeter dancing through my atrophied brain.

I’d just tell you. Or take a picture but I’d feel like a D-bag taking the wind out of GFC’s sails lol.... maybe Wiley will share

Looks like there might be a GFC sitting on their floor for a while. I was expecting to pick mine up at the end of this week because it would be at the end of the 2 to 3 week proposed build time. Now it looks like I need to wait another two weeks, which puts it in the middle of my vacation. Pair that with two work trips right after and it could be sitting there an entire month. Hopefully I can squeeze a quick trip to Montana in a couple of weeks

I guess now I have plenty of time to finish up my pile of mods. :(:sadviolin:

Has anyone made a mosquito net for cabana mode on a longbed (6') GFC? If so i'd love to know the dimensions you used. Or if you've got one around you could do some quick measurements on, i just need to know the outside distance of each side including the back. Thanks!

I used the AL tape and 100% white silicon. There are a ton of holes from where the cap snaps into the bedside. It's a tedious process but hopefully it is worth it to keep out water and dust.

Whats the reason for using aluminum tape and not some other tape?

I don't have a good answer for that. I used it after seeing a few members use it. It does work really well though.

How does the payment structure work? I am barely lifting my Tacoma next month and won't be able to get a GFC till next year due to funds. Spent $3500k on my Tacoma recently.

With the recent stuff that went on with Pelfreybilt and their bankruptcy and them taking full payment preorders during their struggles. I'm little reluctant of purchasing something and giving 100% payment and waiting for the product 6+ months.

Can I put down a deposit for a GFC and pay in full before it gets shipped/delivered to me?? Whats the process?

There's a $500 deposit to reserve a spot now. Don't need to pay in full until you configure everything.

Looks like May 2019 is the current estimate according to the website.

Anyone know how to have a Prinsu on and the GFC? Thinking ahead of time as I have a frontrunner right now, but I know that won't work.

    Edit: Specifically for 2nd gen

If you're running low profile bedrails I don't believe any full length roof rack will work. It may not work at all on a second gen to be honest since our bed is shallower. One person running stock third gen rails had a prinsu and it barely cleared.
